A temple with hidden beauty ...
Fumon-ji Temple was founded about 500 years old, but the main hall was reconstructed in 1877, by Kesen Carpenters. It's rather large with absolutely beautiful gardens out the back. There is a small po...
This place is beautiful. The head monk is an incredibly kind man (no English) who, if available might give you a tour. The architecture both inside and out is stunning, and the nature surrounding th...
It is a temple with a lot of greenery and a quiet and kindness. It seems that both mind and body are purified when walking along the approach lined with splendid cedars. There is also a pond in front of the three-storied pagoda, the Great Buddha, and Nio where lotus is likely to bloom. In such silence, I just hope that those who were sacrificed in the Great East Japan Earthquake 々 will be peaceful.
When I traveled to Rikuzentakata, I had an acquaintance living in the local area take me. First of all, the impression here was that there was a magnificent salsberg, which was over 300 years old. Just being there feels like something mysterious. I also think it's worth visiting the three-storied pagoda and the Great Buddha! It seems that workshops such as Rakan production are held on Saturdays and Sundays, so it may be a good idea to check in advance and visit.

Since I went in the summer, the salsberg was in full bloom beautifully. The Great Buddha is not that big. There is also a three-storied pagoda.
