Heet Cave

Heet Cave is a natural cave hidden in the desert valleys near Riyadh, located on the cliff face of Mount Jubayl, and is one of the few large caves near Riyadh that can be explored on foot. The cave entrance resembles a half-open giant eye. It was once a water source where passing caravans would stop to rest and replenish their water, and the limestone walls have distinct stratification and are rich in anhydrite minerals. Descending from the entrance along the steep, rocky slope, the daylight gradually fades, and the sedimentary layers on the rock walls unfold one by one under the light of a flashlight. Deep inside, an underground lake suddenly opens up before your eyes. The water is crystal clear and icy cold all year round, reaching depths of tens of meters, and the lake extends for over 100 m within the cave hall.
