Very related to China. The bronze statue of Przewalski, the great Russian Central Asian explorer. Przewalski has been on Central Asian explorations five times, and has arrived in Dunhuang and Xinjiang. He named many Central Asian place names and found "Przewalski Mustang". He is also the teacher who found Kozlov in Black Water City.
A very historic park, there are many sculptures worth seeing.
Smack dab in the center of St. Petersburg and right off Palace Square, the Alexander Garden(s) was (were?) laid out in the early 1800s. A must see for foreigners visiting with enough time to explore and enough unescorted freedom to wander.
Alexander Gardens reminded me an awful lot of the National Mall in Washington, DC in the United States. It's a long, narrow green space in a prominent location that's sandwiched between some of the most visiting sites in the city. To stroll it's whole length is to get a flavor for the more leisurely side of St. Petersburg.
