Alta Plaza Park is the best park in the Pacific Heights-Fillmore area. Three large flights of stairs lead you to the top of the hill, a playground, and several tennis and basketball courts. The views of the city are incredible. Particularly interesting is how you can see the other park down in the Haight. I often wonder if there’s someone on a hill out there looking back at me.You’ll have plenty of paths to take if you’re walking your dog here. Even more convenient are the plastic bag dispensers filled by people of good grace in an attempt to keep the park poop free. Your pup is likely to get a good amount of exercise here. This is also a very high-energy park. The playground is often filled with children and the courts are usually all occupied. Benches are half taken by people reading books or resting, and joggers (myself included) use the steps to punish ourselves from cake.
A touch of beautiful scenery on the Pacific high ground, the park is picturesque and the air is fresh. The most important thing is that I like the tranquility and peace here, which makes me extremely relaxed.
A gem ! Simply love this park. It's got great views , benches , tennis courts. A lot of times there are community events held here and I simply love em !
If the sun is out, you'll find people sunbathing at this park. Young people, families, they're all here. Otherwise, it does get windy, but this is a great picnic spot.
