Shanghang Museum

Shanghang County Museum was established in November 1975. Its predecessor was Shanghang County Revolutionary Memorial Hall. It was renamed in 1989 and is a public welfare independent enterprise legal entity. It is a comprehensive museum of social history and revolutionary history. In November 2008, it was listed as a national Complimentary open museum. In May 2013, it was evaluated and classified as a national second-level key museum by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the National Museum Evaluation Committee. The current building of our museum is based on the Linjiang Building, Mao Zedong's former residence, a national key cultural relic protection unit, with a construction area of ​​1,102 square meters, including a warehouse area of ​​300 square meters and an exhibition hall area of ​​690 square meters. The collection is characterized by social history and revolutionary history relics. There are more than 11,029 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in the collection, including 1,777 pieces of national third-level or above precious cultural relics that have been identified. There are two basic exhibitions in the museum: the "Shanghang People's Revolutionary History" exhibition and the "Mao Zedong's Former Residence-Linjiang Building Site" exhibition.
