Bala village is located on the mountainside of Gezong Snow Mountain in the middle of Shangri-La Grand Canyon, at an altitude of 2,900 meters, and about 700 meters vertically along the Gangqu River Valley. It is rumored that more than 1300 years ago, Snadoji, a Tibetan tribal leader, in order to pursue his wife, Yuan Ren, who left home with the old lama because he was tired of war, gave up wealth, gave up rights, and gave up the territory of Guangmao, just to find a place away from war. The holy place of the world, so Snadorgi took his tribe, following the steps of Renqilam, from the far south of Batang, to Barra and settled. From then on, Bala Village became the ideal home for the Snadogi family, and became an aboriginal after generations. For thousands of years, Bala people have lived here at sunrise and sunset, and for generations have lived in isolation.

The village of Bala, surrounded by mountains, is a typical Tibetan village. "Bala" in Tibetan means "the Tibetan village from Batang", and the Tibetan scriptures record that people came here thousands of years ago from far away to find an ideal home away from war and suffering and finally settled here. So Balagezong, as a symbol of ideal home and paradise, became eternal in the ancestral singing.
