The Martyrs Cemetery of the North China Military Region is a directly under the Department of Veterans Affairs of Hebei Province. It is located at No. 343 Zhongshan West Road, Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province. It is one of the famous martyrs' cemeteries built early, large-scale and high building specifications in China. In the autumn of 1948, after the proposal of Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, in order to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed in the Northern China during the War of Resistance Against Japan and Liberation War, it was built and opened to the outside world in 1954. It is one of the martyrs' cemeteries built in China earlier and with higher architectural and plastic arts. The park is buried with the revolutionary martyrs who died in the 318 regiments in northern China during the historical period of the revolution, including Ma Benzhai, Zhou Jianping, Chang Deshan, Baosen, Zhou Wenbin, and more than 650 martyrs and the ashes of the old Red Army, internationalist fighter Norman Bethune and Dr. Ke Shuhua. All are buried here. The cemetery covers an area of 210,000 square meters. The main memorial buildings are: Martyrs' Monument, Film and Television Hall, Welcome Hall, Martyrs' Memorial Hall, India Aid China Medical Team Memorial Hall, North China Revolutionary War Memorial Hall, North China Bureau Memorial Pavilion, Bethune Tomb, Ke Yanhua Tomb, The martyr's tomb area and a large-scale bronze statue group, as well as Dong Zhentang, Zhao Bosheng Memorial Pavilion.
