Peleș Castle

Built in 1873. Also known as Peres Castle, it took ten years to complete. Peres Castle is surrounded by the Carpathian mountains, which are a summer resort and a skier's paradise in winter. Peres Castle has many historical firsts, the first castle with electricity, central air conditioning and elevators, the first castle with skylights to open stargazing, and the small theater inside is where Romania plays its first movie. The castle of Pelles is located in a small town called Sinaia, about 130 kilometers north of Bucharest, Romania's capital, and is the last summer palace built by the king of Romania, with impressive wood carving.
