There is a Wujing Village 2 kilometers northwest of Songyang County. As soon as you enter the village, you can see a group of horse-head walls of different heights standing tall and majestic. This is the unique wood carving art palace - Songyang Huang Family Courtyard. After nearly a hundred years of hard work, the Huang family became a prominent family in the local area. During the Tongzhi period, they began to build two buildings, "Plum and Orchid Pavilion" and "Bamboo and Chrysanthemum Pavilion" in the backyard. During the Guangxu period, they built a "Wu Fu Ji Building" in the middle courtyard, and in 1918, they invested 55,000 silver dollars to build a luxurious "Bai Shou Hall" in the front yard. The "Bai Shou Hall" in the front yard is commonly known as "Seven Rooms". It has three entrances and seven bays, with a width of 27.6 meters and a depth of 33.8 meters. There are 172 pillars in the hall that are neatly arranged. Being in the "Bai Shou Hall" is like wandering in an art gallery. The hall is decorated with exquisite carvings and paintings, all with the theme of "longevity". The 200 characters of "longevity" in seal script on the horns and brackets are all different. The main part of the backyard is the Plum, Orchid, Bamboo and Chrysanthemum Hall. The carvings on the door lintels and column bases are all centered on this theme, especially the carvings on the window lattices, which are meticulous and exquisite. Between the window panes, there are patterns of bats, butterflies, fish, pomegranates, birds, deer, bees and monkeys as small as fingertips, which are lifelike and vivid. There is also a group of carvings of labor scenes on the brackets, including woodcutters chopping wood, farmers hoeing rice, fishermen fishing, etc.
The Songyang Huangjia Courtyard, which was temporarily decided to go to, was very convenient to use the tickets purchased on Trip.com. It was very convenient to use it after an hour. As soon as I walked into the compound, I was attracted by the overall layout of the building. It happened that we were lucky that there were no other tourists when we arrived, and we could enjoy it without any interference. The exquisite wood carvings in the yard are simply exquisite, meticulous and subtle, and the various moving and plant patterns embedded in the window and pane in the hall are lifelike and wonderful. It is indeed worthy of the title of the wooden carving art hall! Overall: Huangjia Courtyard let us harvest unexpected surprises, it is worth slowly understanding and appreciating!
After visiting the first ancient tower in Jiangnan in the morning, Yanqing Temple Tower, I learned that the Huangjia Courtyard is not far from here, so I transferred to it. The history of the Huangjia Courtyard is quite interesting. It has been built by the ancestors, fathers and sons for many years. It is famous for its exquisite wood carvings and has its own characteristics. Especially the sculptures in the window are exquisite and vivid, very interesting. The compound is in the township government courtyard, not far from Songyang County, parking is available at the door, and the ticket is 20 yuan.
Very good wood carving building, there are not many people on National Day, clean. Especially the monkey, the hair is clearly visible, holding the peaches in the hand, and the eyes are looking at the tree, which is wonderful. very good.

The whole building is magnificent, the wood carving is fine, and the skills are superb. The front yard Baishou Hall is known as the Wood Carving Art Museum, with high scientific and artistic value.
