Wenxing Bridge

Wenxing Bridge is one of the existing covered bridges in Taishun area with a better environment and is well preserved. Located in Kengbian Village, Xiaocun Town, across Yuxi River, it is a stacked beam wooden arch bridge. The whole bridge is 46.2 meters long, 5 meters wide, 29.6 meters wide, and 11.5 meters high from the water surface. The bridge was built in the seventh year of Qing Xianfeng (1857) and was rebuilt in 1930. The structure of Wenxing Bridge is very peculiar, and the asymmetrical structure makes the bridge attract much attention among the many covered bridges in Taishun. In 1988, it was listed as the third batch of cultural relics protection units in Taishun County. Related legends: It is said that the master Bamo who built the bridge was Jinhuahua, and he took a local young man as his apprentice. When building the bridge, the apprentice was afraid that the end he was responsible for would not be strong, so he added a few iron nails, so the bridge body was inclined in the direction of fewer iron nails. Another legend is that when the bridge was built, two masters were invited to build it from both sides of the strait at the same time. The two masters held their own opinions on the plan of building the bridge and did not give in to each other. When it was built to the middle, it was discovered that the heights of the two sides were different. At this time, it was too late to dismantle and rebuild it, so I had to tilt the dragon.
