Baopingbao is located about 2 kilometers south of Xinpingbao Town, Tianzhen County, Datong City, Shanxi Province. It was built in the Ming Dynasty in Jiajing for 25 years (1546). It was one of the five castles built at that time. Baopingbao has a circumference of more than 850 meters, surrounded by city walls, 12 meters high, and earth construction. Now only a few pieces of debris are left. The building in the castle is basically destroyed. There are few remnants.
