Built in 1872 Mingye period, UNESCO listed as one of the World Heritage Lists in 2014. It is the first mechanized silk factory in Japan. There are many reddish-brown brick and tile buildings in the factory. Visit the residences and offices of the French resident in Japan, and display many historical relics. There are also regular demonstrations and experiences of hand-shaking silk machines.

You can visit the inside of the Tomioka silk mill. There are some people on Saturdays and Sundays, so it may be better on weekdays!
