I apologize to Puyuan Ancient Town for being too loud before
I knew a few years ago that a similar ancient town was being planned next to Wuzhen, and at that time I just thought, 'Why another fake ancient town, and right next to Wuzhen, can this even work?' After six years of development, with an area three times larger than Wuzhen and an investment of 7.1 billion yuan, Puyuan Ancient Town has been in trial operation for a while, and it seems to have a good reputation. Despite my skepticism, as an ancient town enthusiast, I couldn't help but take my parents to visit. After touring the town, I must say, it is the most complete of all the new Jiangnan ancient towns I have visited, and it's not at all inferior to Wuzhen, far exceeding my expectations!
I thought it was an artificial ancient town with no historical foundation, but after learning more, I found out that its history dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty when Emperor Gaozong fled south. At that time, this place was just a rural market called Youhu. The scholar Pufeng moved here after being appointed as the Deputy Marshal to Lin'an, and it became the permanent residence of the Pu family. During the reign of Emperor Lizong of Song, Pufeng's sixth-generation descendant, Pudou, was appointed as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Personnel, and his residence was granted the name 'Puyuan', which is how the ancient town got its name. Since then, Puyuan has been known for its scholarly atmosphere and strong cultural environment. The convergence of merchants also brought economic prosperity to the ancient town, especially the silk industry, which was once known as 'the number one silk in the world' and was listed as one of the five major market towns in Jiangnan during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Today's Puyuan Ancient Town is based on the 'Puyuan Town Chronicles' and deeply crafted with 'Pu Shilang' as the cultural thread. Stepping into the ancient town, you are immediately surrounded by the charm of the Tang and Song dynasties, and the envisioned 'grand town of Jiahe' is fully materialized.
Although I knew that the designer of Puyuan was Chen Xianghong, the same designer of Wuzhen, I was still shocked by the details here. He understands Jiangnan and Tongxiang so well, finding a balance between poetry and the mundane in everything from architecture to culture. At first glance, it has the appearance of Wuzhen, with Song-style architecture as the main feature of the houses built along the water, arranged in an orderly fashion, revealing the unique craftsmanship of Jiangnan through the intricate wood and brick carvings. Every street, courtyard, and stall has been thoughtfully designed and arranged, satisfying visitors' desire to take photos while also maximizing the immersive experience of the ancient town. Unlike other ancient towns that have a street full of stinky tofu and milk tea, here the shops are few but each has its own characteristics, similar to Wuzhen's operation model. You can browse the unique cloth art and cultural creations, visit the Beigeng Tower to learn about Puyuan's past and present, taste Song-style pastries, traditional oily dumplings, and shaomai in the food street, sit in a teahouse to listen to storytelling, or follow the schedule to watch folk performances. If you stay late enough, you can even watch a night patrol show.
In Puyuan, it's impossible to finish taking photos, as everywhere is a scene of traveling through time. Siwan Bridge, Songyue Bridge, Yueyang Bridge... Nine well-preserved ancient bridges lie quietly on the green river, Fushan Pagoda, Fushan Temple, Puyuan Chamber of Commerce, Guandi Temple, Yue Family Courtyard... Each small attraction is a big surprise, and each imitation ancient building conveys profound cultural connotations.
When the lights are up, Puyuan is even more beautiful, like an oil painting. I look forward to its full completion, which will surely be an even bigger surprise.
✍️ It is recommended to visit when there are fewer people for a better experience.

Currently, the ticket price is 60 yuan, and it will increase to 120 yuan after the official opening.
Compared with Wuzhen, the ancient town of Yiyuan is better in terms of overall scale and architectural style diversity. The temples and ancient towers in the ancient town are very powerful, complementing the residential buildings of the pillow water people, which is worth watching carefully.
Really good, except for the house number. In fact, this ancient town is quite beautiful on the basis of the original ancient construction, full of charm, very retro, and really has a sense of crossing through it. It’s just that the investment is still almost done, and many stores are empty, which is a pity. In fact, investment has gone up, tickets have dropped again, popularity has risen, and financial fortune has come.
The courtyard is very beautiful, the design is very reasonable, and it is more comfortable than Wuzhen. There are not many small shops and the scenery is beautiful. There are also city walls in the ancient town, which are richer than the scenery of Dongzha and Xizha in Wuzhen. The small bridge and flowing water people have a feeling of Jiangnan.
I see how flattering the hospital is, and I expect the hospital to see me. I am not very interested in this kind of tourist punching place in the ancient town. My friend recommended to come to the hospital together. I was attracted by the archway at the door before entering the gate. I was blinded by the moment I entered the scenic spot. The boat in the river, the brick on the road, the pedestrian on the bridge, the tiles on the house, As if I was brought into the painting, I was deeply attracted and lingered. If it was not for the urging of my companion to catch the train back to Shanghai, I really wanted to integrate into this beautiful scenery. Finally, I also ate a bowl of beef noodles in the scenic area. I have to say that the taste, portion and price also made me very satisfied! I also recommended this picturesque hospital to my family and friends to let them feel this comfort. Finally, I have to mention that when I went there were not many people. I stopped and stopped. Sometimes I watched fish by the water, sometimes I took pictures and punched in, sometimes I drank a drink, and sometimes I climbed high and looked at it. It’s not beautiful to come down in a day~
The ancient town of Yiyuan Fashion is mainly based on the architectural style of the Southern Song Dynasty. Entering the ancient town, looking at the stone bridge reflection water bank stone steps, pavilions and pavilions are scaled up, the curved path of the carved beam corridor is quiet, the century-old ginkgo trees are still upright, and the alleys of the houses can be seen everywhere in the south of the Yangtze River. The buildings, corridors, tiles and tiles in the ancient town of the hospital are in scale and beautifully carved, just like a painting of Jiangnan ink. The houses, temples, streets and alleys are all dipped in ink, and they are suitable for thick and light, giving birth to many poetic ideas. The ancient town of Yiyuan is three times larger than Wuzhen. It is indeed so. The ancient town has beautiful scenery and one step at a time. The main thing is that there are fewer people. Slowly strolling and taking pictures. The overall satisfaction is that the ancient town has less business and more places to eat. It is better, I hope it will get better and better in the future, and I have the opportunity to visit again.
The scenic spot is indeed relatively large, clean and tidy, and the instructions are clear. There are many interactive activities for performances, but there are many areas to be developed, and the occupancy rate of merchants and micro-attractions is low. The parking lot is large, parking is very convenient, and the price is right and not pitted. The cruise scenery is good, it is recommended to take a boat at night, and the fun is good.
There are not many people, the commercialization of the scenic spot is not serious, it is very suitable for taking pictures and is very beautiful. It is more comfortable than other ancient towns. It is recommended to buy a rowing ticket, so you can save 12 yuan. We just didn't buy a connecting ticket and wanted to take a boat. In addition, the route to the door to take the boat is relatively long, it is recommended to take the boat when you enter the door, and then go shopping.
The newly opened ancient town is very large and beautiful. There are not many people and the scenery and buildings are very beautiful, but there are a few places to eat. It may be because it is too new. Many businesses have not settled in. It should be a very mature tourist attraction in time! look forward to!
