Fort York National Historic Site

York is the old name of Toronto. Fort York was built in 1793 to protect the city from the threat of the United States. At that time, it was still a British colony, so it was built by the former British acting governor. It is a very long and large area. The outdoor part is free to visit, and the indoor exhibits and explanations are charged.

I took a trip to York Castle in Toronto to learn about the history of the Anglo-American War. It was a great place to learn about history and some developments that are different from the main city. The cannons on display in the castle were cool, and the other sights were nice too.

Fort York is also a historical building from the colonial period. This place has a rich history, including some remaining military camps and weapon positions, which is also a very important part of colonial history.

This place is not a castle, it is just a former military fortress. I came here by bus from the city, which was very convenient. Now the fortress has basically been razed to the ground, and there is a railway next to it.

I thought I could really see the castle here, but in fact there are only a few traces left, and they have been restored. It is actually just a high ground, but it is okay if you just want to take a walk.
