Venice ghetto was established in 1516, but this cemetery is much older. It tells us a big history of Jewish community in Venice starting from the 14th ct. Great.

The oldest tombs are not accessible

We saw the old tombs through a locked gate but couldn't access them through the main entrance. There is a good value snack bar a couple of hundred metres to the west.
