Sadhana Forest is a unique place. There's simply nothing like it in the world! They are trying to envision a more compassionate future, a way of living together based on harmony, sustainability, unity and non-violence. Anyone is welcome to volunteer here at any time and help with the work of reforestation and sustainable living. There is an animal sanctuary, a tea hut, a Children's Land, a weekly Eco Film Club and daily community activities for the volunteers. You will meet interesting people from all over the world. They practice veganism, zero waste off-grid sustainable living, unschooling, non-competition, substance free living. There is no processed food, they build with natural materials, they use natural cleaning products. The list goes on. There is so much to discover and learn here. They also have volunteer projects in Meghalaya, Haiti and Kenya, where they are doing amazing work with marginalized communities that suffer from climate change, drought and malnutrition. You should definitely come and volunteer here at some point in your life, you will not be the same person again afterwards!
A must do for a true nature lover! Sadhana forest welcomes all with a compassionate heart and relentlessly tries to make it a worthy experience for you. Looking for a different experience? This is it! Visit, or even better - volunteer and live amidst forest (that was once a barren land) and learn about forest regeneration and sustainable living - experience living in a community ( dorm or private huts) conserving water, eating vegan organic food, nurturing cows, practising Zerowaste, using compost toilets, getting hands on experience in planting/ mulshing/ digging, and even cooking and cleaning together!Day starts at 6am, volunteer till 12.30pm with one hour breakfast break. All three meals are served on most days except no dinner on Thursday, and no lunch on Sat & Sun. Weekends, usually there is no seva (volunteer work). Each day is a different experience - sharing circle, core value talk, non talent show, moon circle, acrobats, meditation and so on!P.S. If you are visiting for one day of few hours, then make sure it’s a Friday evening.
