East Lake Peony Garden

Located on the south side of Liyuan Square on the second ring road of Wuhan, East Lake Peony Garden was built in 2004 and covers an area of ​​116 acres. It has convenient transportation and superior geographical location. After more than ten years of dedicated research and careful cultivation, East Lake Peony Garden has gone through hardships to make it elegant and beautiful, and settled down in Wuhan East Lake, rewriting the history of "there has been no peony in Jiangnan since ancient times" and is known as "the first garden of Jiangnan Peony". The garden is planted with Central Plains peonies from Heze, Shandong and Luoyang, Henan, Northwest purple-spotted peonies from Lanzhou, Gansu, and wild purple-spotted peonies from Baokang, Hubei. There are ancient treasures such as Yaohuang, Wei Zi, Xiangyu, and Yanlongzi, as well as modern new varieties such as Zhuguang Morun, Mingxing, Xueying Taohua, Zidie Feiwu, and Jingyu; there are even exotic varieties such as Sun, Kao, and Daojin cultivated in Japan, Jinzhi Bird from France, and Haihuang cultivated in the United States, with a total of more than 200 species and more than 30,000 peonies, covering 9 color systems and 10 flower shapes. The peony "Spring Willow" has a long flowering period and is green in color. It can be called the greenest peony in the world. The East Lake Peony Garden cleverly uses various landscape stones to create a garden, with a scene at every step. The landscape stones are magnificent, the roads are winding, the terrain is undulating, the vegetation is uneven and overlapping, and the pond is shrouded in clouds and mist. The famous cliff carvings dotted in between are wonderful, and the azalea, peach blossom, cherry blossom and crabapple blossom complement the peony, making the peony more rich and gorgeous. The main attractions include the huge stone carving "Ode to the East Lake Peony Garden", the first peony garden in Jiangnan, the double-layered peony pavilion, the quaint Liuchunfang, Zuixiang Gallery, as well as Fangde, Lichun, Forest Square, Huanhua Creek, Watching the waterfall and listening to the flowers, Danxia Yingri, Yaotai Fairyland, Peony Fairy and other attractions.
