Sharing my tips for a 3-day 2-night trip to Xiamen, for friends who are thinking of going there soon🌟 ✈️Travel - Cost 1600💰(round trip) ◾️I left from Chengdu at the end of June, and the round-trip airfare was reasonable, but it might be a bit more expensive now due to the summer holidays 🏨Accommodation - Cost 1500💰(two nights) ◾️I stayed at the Ruiyi Hotel, which is close to Gulangyu Island. I chose a sea-view room, and the scenery was indeed nice with good value for money. The hotel was very popular, the only downside was that check-in was only available after 3 pm, so I had to wait half a day at the hotel, and to get takeout, I had to go to the parking lot at the back 🍽️Dining - Cost 1750💰(three days) ◾️Tianjie Fu Seafood Stall - 300💰: A must-visit restaurant, the place is small but the taste is really good, the seafood is fresh, and it's good value for money. I recommend the seafood roll and oyster pancake ◾️Zuiyi No.1 Seafood Stall - 750💰: Another must-visit restaurant, it seems to be more popular than Tianjie Fu, with a richer menu. Every dish is good, I recommend the lemon crab and ginger duck, but the spicy frog is just so-so ◾️Tangyan · Old Xiamen Private Kitchen - 350💰: A must-visit restaurant, featured in 'The Taste', many celebrities have dined here. I really recommend their yellow croaker with vermicelli, even as someone who doesn't like fish, I found it delicious. The soup is very fresh, and the crispy taro duck is also good (Zhao Lusi loves it too) ◾️Lychee Couple · Seafood Private Kitchen - 350💰: This one leans more towards private kitchen style, with a variety of dishes and stronger flavors. The cold fish belly is very tasty, and the pork bone tea is also good. Honestly, the number one ranked golden soup seafood stew was just average 🏝️Attractions - Cost 190💰(Gulangyu ferry ticket + attractions) ◾️Shapowei: A trendy spot for taking photos, with many stalls selling trinkets. There are some popular photo spots so it's quite crowded. Taking the elevator, you can take pictures at the Shapowei rainbow wall (you must muster the courage to take photos, as everyone below is watching you) ◾️Gulangyu: Buy ferry tickets in advance on 'Yu Jian Xiamen'. I bought a luxury boat VIP cabin, which was really comfortable on the way there, with no need to queue for security checks and direct access to the lounge with staff reception. The VIP cabin is comfortable, but the return trip was on a regular boat. To be honest, Xiamen is too hot, and it's really hard to walk around the island. I ended up paying 50 for a sightseeing car ◾️Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street: It's like many cities' snack and shopping streets, nice to stroll around, but the food is just so-so ✅Conclusion Overall, Xiamen is a very suitable city for travel. If it doesn't rain, the scenery is really beautiful, the sky is very blue, but it's a bit hot recently. The locals are also very warm and hospitable. Chatting with many locals, everyone seems very nice. The food tastes are acceptable, and I will definitely go again if I have the chance, to visit other attractions that I didn't get to check out

It's not my first time to Xiamen, but it is my first time setting foot on Gulangyu. Only when I truly stepped onto this small island did I understand that it's different from the impressions I had before. There are no modern means of transportation; the way of getting around the island goes back to a leisurely and slow pace on foot, with the occasional rumbling of the ferry and the sound of waves hitting the shore heard in the background. A local friend led the way through the less crowded alleys, the residential areas are full of life, and the occasional 'getting lost' was a pleasant surprise. Every few steps, you could encounter cats that are not shy and exude a clean aura, and by chance, I overheard a few stories behind the architecture from elementary school students on a study trip. The scattered international architecture on the island still has its own charm, each brick and tile accumulating a profound cultural heritage. Time has left its mark here, yet it has formed a kind of 'relative stillness' of ease. The early mornings and late nights belonging to the island are even more leisurely and unhurried. Passing through the paths, staying in a century-old chapel deep within the island, leaning against a boulder. The ancient keys and wooden furniture convey the eternity of time, while the attic roof and the low-saturated cement brick walls give a warm and simple feeling of repairing the old as old. Steep rocks and ancient banyans wrap the outdoor stone platform, the natural setting here is silent yet perfectly integrated, a tranquil corner that is indifferent to time. On the island, the deeper you go, the slower time seems to pass.

I believe everyone is familiar with Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, right? It definitely ranks at the top of the list of the ten most popular island destinations in China! Therefore, most people think that the expenses for Gulangyu Island are high, so they just rush to check it off their list and leave. In fact, as long as you avoid the peak tourist season, you can enjoy an ultra-low budget! 1. Transportation budget: There are express buses directly from Xiamen North Station, Xiamen Station, and Xiamen Airport to the Xiamen Cruise Terminal, with a fare of 5 yuan. The ferry ticket price from Xiamen Cruise Terminal to Gulangyu Island is 35 yuan (round trip). There are no vehicles on Gulangyu Island, so there is no transportation budget on the island. The total transportation budget for Gulangyu Island is 5×2+35=45 yuan. 2. Admission budget: Sunlight Rock 50 yuan, Shuzhuang Garden 30 yuan, Haoyue Park 10 yuan, Bagua Building 15 yuan, Haitian Tanggou 88 yuan, Shell Dream World 50 yuan, Gulangyu Celebrity Wax Museum 88 yuan, with a total admission budget of 331 yuan. 3. Accommodation budget: I don't know if it's because the holiday has just ended, but the accommodation on Gulangyu Island is super cheap at this time. The average room rate for mid-to-high-end homestays is about 200 yuan. I stayed for two nights in a high-end homestay for only 396 yuan. 4. Dining budget: Although Gulangyu Island is small, there are many places to play, and I didn't feel like three days were enough. During the 3 days on the island, there are 3 breakfasts and 6 main meals. The average breakfast on Gulangyu Island is 30 yuan per day, and the average meal is 120 yuan per meal. The dining budget is 3×30 yuan+6×120 yuan=810 yuan. The total budget for a 3-day, 2-night trip on Gulangyu Island is 45 yuan+331 yuan+396 yuan+810 yuan=1582 yuan.

1⃣️The essence of Xiamen's attractions is concentrated in Siming District, where the high-speed railway station is also located. Accommodation can be arranged in the Zengcuoan area, which is convenient for going to other places and has hotels and homestays of various price ranges. 2⃣️If you only play in Siming District, the itinerary can be set for three days and two nights. The route is Zengcuoan—Huangcuo Beach—Shapowei—Bashi—Gulangyu 3⃣️It is recommended to go to and from Gulangyu in one day. Regardless of the off-peak season, the accommodation on the island is relatively expensive. Take a boat from the Cruise Center Xiamen Drum Pier to the Neicuoao Pier, the ticket is 35 per person. 4⃣️The most romantic travel experience in Xiamen is to ride an electric bike around the island road, starting from Zengcuoan and riding along the island road and the south island road to Xiangshan Yacht Club, riding and enjoying the scenery, stopping when you see a beautiful place, round trip 3 hours. 5⃣️As the central coastal city of Fujian, Xiamen's consumption is not low, the cost of three days and two nights is about 1k, two nights in Zengcuoan 400+, car rental and food 600+ 6⃣️Don't miss the Bashi Old Street in Xiamen for food hunting. 🌦️Weather Notice: The temperature in March and April is quite comfortable, but there are many rainy days. Friends who come to Xiamen should be mentally prepared. 🏨Accommodation Recommendation: I suggest staying on Xiamen Island, especially in hotels from the train station to Zhongshan Road, which are more convenient for travel. It's best to choose hotels near the subway, as most of the scenic spots in Xiamen are on the island. 🚆Transportation Strategy: If you take a high-speed train to Xiamen, it is recommended to get off at 'Xiamen Station', which is more convenient as it's in the city center. If you get off at 'Xiamen North', you can take a bus or subway line 1 to the island. Gaoqi Airport is also on the island, and you can take a bus or airport shuttle after leaving the airport. 🍜Food Recommendation: Xiamen is mainly known for its Minnan cuisine, snacks, and seafood. The food in Xiamen is relatively sweet and light, which may not be suitable for those who like spicy food. There are particularly many taro-based dishes (for specific food recommendations, please see my food guide). 🌊Attractions Recommendation: Actually, the main reason to visit Xiamen is to see the sea. The weather is very important for sea viewing; if the weather is good, the sea will be very blue and beautiful. Below are the places I think you must visit: Huangcuo Beach - Wan Yue Po, Health Trail Linhai Line, Pearl Bay - Zengcuo'an Music Square, Jiahe Park - Ten-mile Long Embankment - Jimei School Village, Shangli Reservoir, Guanyinshan Beach, Zhonggu Cableway, Shapowei - Twin Towers - Yanwu Bridge. 🏝️Gulangyu, remember to buy tickets in advance, and it is recommended to reserve a whole day for it. The island is suitable for leisurely strolls. For strategies about Gulangyu, you can see the introduction on my homepage. ⚠️Points to Avoid: The specialty stores on Zhongshan Road are traps, and it is not recommended to buy anything there; There are many rip-offs in the Zengcuo'an commercial street, most of which are not delicious, really do not go there to eat; the homestays in Zengcuo'an mostly do not match the pictures at all, it is really not recommended to stay in homestays; Do not trust the so-called native guides or taxi drivers on the street, they are deceivers; many seafood vendors in the Eighth Market will rip you off, short-weigh or switch products, be very careful when eating seafood, it is recommended to reweigh it at the market entrance; Do not drive by yourself, as parking is hard to find in Xiamen and it is very congested during holidays. Buy a ticket from Xiamen Drum Pier and disembark at Sanqiutian Pier. The 35 yuan ticket is round-trip, so there's no need to buy another ticket. If you're taking the subway to Xiamen Drum Pier, take Line 2 to the Cruise Center Subway Station. You can store your luggage near Exit 6. The price varies depending on the storage time and locker size, up to 30 yuan per day. For reference, my 22-inch suitcase cost 12 yuan for 6 hours of storage. You can also disembark at Xiamen Drum Pier on the return trip and then retrieve your luggage. There is food for sale on the island, but it's relatively expensive, so it's recommended to bring some snacks on board. Additionally, the sun on the island is very strong, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun, otherwise, you'll end up quite tanned after a day. For ladies who like to take photos, wearing a slimming camisole dress with a high degree of skin exposure will make for very beautiful pictures. If you have plenty of time on the island, you can spend an entire afternoon there, but if you're short on time, 2 to 3 hours is also okay. 🏙️The Twin Towers photo checkpoint is on the way to Shapowei. If your schedule is tight and you can't take photos, those who want to can pay attention to the night view. Shapowei photo checkpoint: The main building of the Art West District. Climb up the stairs to get the view shown in my picture. Shapowei soufflé checkpoint, the taste is average, priced at 25 yuan for one, 35 yuan for two. You can share an order with other friends, but do it secretly as they might not allow it. After buying, I realized I could have shared the order, but the money was already paid, so just let it be. ⚠️Precautions Pay attention to sun protection and heat prevention when playing. On sunny days, the sun on Gulangyu Island is very strong and harsh, so be sure to protect yourself with a sun hat, sun protection mask, and umbrella. A friendly reminder: sightseeing cars are only available at the embarkation and disembarkation points, and there are none later on, so you have to walk. During this year's National Day holiday, I had the opportunity to visit this small island and experience its unique charm. 🌳Chinese and Western architecture + Sunlight Rock Sunset ✨The architectural style of Gulangyu is unique, with Chinese and Western architecture coexisting, both traditional Chinese architecture and European classical architecture. ✨Walking in the alleys of the island, it feels like being in a world full of exoticism. Most of the buildings are made of stone, and they are still as strong as ever after being washed by wind and rain. ✨On Gulangyu, you must go to Sunlight Rock, which is the highest point on the island. From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire Gulangyu, with beautiful scenery in sight. The sunset on the island is super beautiful, sitting on the beach watching the sunset is simply too good. But the Sunlight Rock scenic spot will close at 5:30 in the afternoon, so if you want to see the sunset, you must enter early. 🍡Food experience + island sightseeing 🍉There are many types of food in Gulangyu, both authentic Fujian snacks and various seafood delicacies. Fish balls, oyster pancakes, satay noodles, these classic foods are delicious and unique, making people relish. 🍉Various homestays, old mansions, museums, and foreign affairs offices are scattered on both sides of the street. If you want to understand the history, culture, and local customs of Gulangyu, you can choose some places of interest to visit. 🍉Gulangyu looks small, but there are many scenic spots to visit, and there are many routes to play. It is best to go to the island in the morning for a walk around the island, reserve enough time to visit, it is estimated that it will take 5~6 hours to visit the whole island, and reserve 2 hours for getting on and off the island (including ticket checking, boarding, crossing the sea, etc.) 🌟The Palace Museum Gulangyu Foreign Cultural Relics Museum 🔹A dazzling pearl on the island, the museum houses many precious cultural relics from all over the world, as well as local foreign elements of rare treasures. 🔹The three-story small building is simply and cleanly decorated, with a quiet and mysterious atmosphere, and the cultural relics standing quietly under the light seem to have traveled through time and space to a foreign country. 🔹Exquisite porcelain, ancient bronze bells, precious paintings and calligraphy...
