Jingziguan Ancient Town

Jingziguan Ancient Town is located on the right bank of Danjiang River in Xichuan County, Nanyang City. Because it is located in the junction of Henan, Hubei and Shaanxi provinces, the ancient town has the titles of "Three Provinces with One Foot" and "Jingziguan in Three Provinces of Jiming". Jingziguan Town has a history of more than 2,000 years. It was formed in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a famous historical and cultural town in China. The main existing Ming and Qing buildings in the ancient town are: Jingziguan Ancient Street, Guanmen, Shanshan Guild Hall, Yuwang Palace, Pinglang Palace, Wanshou Palace, One Foot Three Province Stele Pavilion, etc. When tourists come here, they can stroll around the old streets, taste the old buildings, and experience the fun of "one foot into three provinces". At the southern end of the ancient town, you can see an "Ancient Gate". The gate is a masonry structure with an arch in the middle. There are three characters "Jingziguan" on the lintel of the bucket arch. Entering the gate is the South Street in the ancient town. After entering the ancient town, tourists can first visit the ancient streets of Jingziguan. Many scenic spots in the ancient town are also beside or around the ancient streets. There is a long street in the ancient town, running from north to south, about 2.5 kilometers long. The ground is paved with bluestone. There are hundreds of old-fashioned "plank door" shops on both sides. A two-meter-long fire-sealing hard gable divides it. On the east side of the South Street of the ancient town, there is a Pinglang Palace built in the Qing Dynasty. During the prosperous period of the ancient town's outer wharf, ship merchants formed a boat gang, which means "calm and calm". For entertainment, there are still buildings such as the Bell and Drum Tower, the nave and the apse in the palace. Visitors can pay more attention to the Bell and Drum Towers. There are jewels and pagodas on the top of the tower, with the words "Wind and Rain" written on it. In the east of the ancient street of the ancient town, tourists can also go to the Shanshan Guild Hall and the Jade Palace on the east side. Founded in the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, the Shanshan Guild Hall is the largest ancient building complex in the ancient town. Now it still preserves old buildings such as the gate building, the theater building, the corridor building, the bell tower, and the Chunqiu Pavilion (middle hall). The stone carvings and wood carvings of lions and Jiangmei are all worthy of careful evaluation, especially the vivid wood carvings such as "Kirin Wang Beidou", "Danfeng Chaoyang", "Xiwu Tu", etc., which are even more unique. The Jade Palace, also known as the Palace of the King of Yu, was built in the Qing Dynasty and was specially built for King Yu who made great contributions to controlling the flood. In addition, there are also ancient buildings in Ming and Qing Dynasties such as Wanshou Palace in the ancient town. On the outskirts of the ancient town, tourists can visit the Fahai Temple in the Monkey Mountain in the northeast. The ancient temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and was repaired many times in the Qing Dynasty. The ancient town is located at the junction of the three provinces. In the middle of Bailang Street in the west of the ancient town, there is a small three-edged marble tower-shaped monument - "Three Provinces Monument with One Foot", where tourists can step into the three provinces of Henan, Hubei and Shaanxi.
