I went to the site of Xiaochangliang, a national nature reserve in Nihewan, during the Mid-Autumn Festival last year. Walking along the boardwalk, you can also see the traces left by the past archaeology, and you can see many red stones at the bottom of the ditch. And the mountains here are very distinctive, competing is Pingding Mountain, but it feels different from the Pingding Mountain in Inner Mongolia, I really don't know how nature's ghostly and powerful creation is how to form codes. The scenery here is really general, the vegetation is not good, children may not like it, adults are still quite knowledgeable.

The Nihewan site is located in Yangyuan County, divided into Maquangou, Xiaochangliang, Guangliang and other sites. I went to the Xiaochangliang site this time, which is the most representative site of Nihewan culture. Located in Yangyuan Huashaoying, Xuanda Expressway Huashaoying Exit, about 2 kilometers southbound, and then Yanlu sign instructions can be found.

I went twice, the first time I had an activity, I couldn't enter the park, and the second time I entered the park, the museum was not open, and I couldn't see the introduction of archaeological research. Have the opportunity to see it again.

Nihewan Basin, more than 60 kilometers long, about 10 kilometers wide from north to south, more than 2 million years ago, here is a larger lake, around the lake, is the world of ancient animals. Later, the lake was dry and the bottom of the lake was exposed. Due to the erosion of the river, the dry "old lake plain" became hilly, platform and basin. The mud river basin was one of them. At this time, the mountain forests around the basin were dense, the climate was warm and humid, and the wildlife was dense. It is also an ideal place for ancient humans. As early as the 1920s and 1930s, Chinese and foreign scientists found many bi-shell lizard fossils and mammal fossils in this area. After the founding of New China, Chinese geological and paleontological workers visited here many times. Hundreds of animal fossils have been discovered, and many Paleolithic cultural sites have been discovered in recent years. In the era, sites from more than 1 million years to 10,000 years old Paleolithic early, middle and late stages have been found, and the content is very rich. Of these, 18 sites over a million years old are unique in the world. Explorations have proved that the Nihewan site is an important area for the search for early human fossils. Archaeologists in Hebei Province have called the Nihewan site "a sacred site of Paleolithic archaeology." When some archaeologists mentioned the mud river, they said that "there is treasure everywhere."
