Lingling Confucian Temple

Yongzhou Confucian Temple is located in the east of Lingling City, Yongzhou, and is separated from the campus of Yongzhou No. 5 Middle School. Yongzhou Confucian Temple was built in the early years of Xiding in Song Dynasty (AD 1208), and its original site was on the left of Yuxi Bridge in Hexi. The ancient Confucian Temple is huge in scale. There are three gates in front of Dacheng Hall, the ceremonial gate in the middle and the halberd gates on both sides. There is Qingyun Bridge outside the Yimen, which is built on the Panchi, and there is a "palace wall" outside the pool. Behind the Dacheng Hall is the "Chongsheng Temple", which is dedicated to the tablet of Liang He, the father of Confucius. On the left of the Dacheng Hall is the "Minglun Hall", in which there are plaques of "loyalty and filial piety" and "honesty" written by Zhu Xi. There are two study rooms under Minglun Hall, one is "Yucai Zhai", where children study; the other is "Xingxian Zhai", which is the residence of talented scholars. On the right is the "Xianxian Temple", as well as the "Famous Officials Temple", "The Temple of Filial Sons", "The Temple of Women and Martyrs" and other buildings, all of which were destroyed in the early 1950s. The existing buildings of the Confucian Temple include the Dacheng Hall and the east and west ridges, with an area of about 700 square meters. Dacheng Hall is a typical palace-style building. The hall is 13 meters high. It is solemn and majestic, rich and solemn, with painted bucket arches, sparse and grand, with double eaves of Xieshan Mountain, high wing angles, yellow glazed tiles on the roof, splendid gold and blue, two colorful dragons crawling in the house, supporting A treasure gourd is extremely spectacular. The east and west sides of the Dacheng Hall are called "matching and worshipping". The tablet of "Sages and Confucians" in "Congsi" is a black character on the bottom of Zhu. The Donghe on the left was dedicated to the tablets of 47 people including Dong Zhongshu and Cheng Hao before the Ming Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty, the number increased to 65. The Xihe on the right was dedicated to 47 people including Zhang Zai and Cheng Yi before the Ming Dynasty, and it increased to 56 people during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.
