Plaza del Pilar

Pilar Square is the central square in Zaragoza, Spain, and is named after the Cathedral of the Virgin of Pilar on the square, located on the southern side of the Ebro River. Locals in Zaragoza consider Pilar Square a must-visit attraction if visiting Zaragoza, as most of the city's classic tourist attractions are located on or near the square.

The Cathedral Square of Salagueza, also known as Pilar Square, is located in the square because there are two cathedrals, one is the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary of Pilar and the other is the Cathedral of Jesus Savior of Salagueza. A Catholic cathedral governs a large diocese, a provincial or regional administrative region in the West, most of which were originally formed from diocese. A square in Salagueza has two cathedrals, probably because it was once the capital of the kingdom of Aragon.

The square in front of the Pilar church is the Grand Square in Zaragoza's Old Town, named after the Cathedral of Our Lady of Pilar in the square, known as the "City Living Room" of Zaragoza. Many historical buildings are not seen because of time. In addition to Pilar Cathedral, we also saw statues of Caesar the Great, ancient Roman walls, and the morning market next to Pilar Square.

According to the itinerary, we stayed in the hotel in the small town of Lerida early, and came from the hotel to Pilar Square in Zaragoza, about 30 minutes. Pilar Square has a large complex, inside the Cathedral of Notre Dame, one of Spain's largest centers, can not be photographed inside, can only take panoramic views outside the square and on the bridge halfway.
