Wucheng Shang Dynasty Site

Located in Wucheng and Rural, a ancient city pool four thousand years ago found by Xingxiu Reservoir is an empirical evidence of the Shang Dynasty civilization crossing the Yangtze River in the sense of archaeology. It is now developed as a national archaeological site park with a pleasant environment.

The ancient Shang Dynasty site, developed in recent years is better, there are reservoirs, lawns, and beautiful scenery.

The traffic is not convenient, there is no bus to reach, I hope the relevant departments can improve. Extend the bus line so that more students and people can visit!

Although I gave all five stars, as a banyan tree person, I had to complain: there were basically no surrounding facilities, there was a coal slag road at the entrance of the site, and there was no bus from the city to the site. The key was that the day we went there was no door, and there was no sign at the door. Such a big discovery, I don’t understand why the local government doesn’t pay attention to it. At least it should be convenient to visit. I hope the government will increase publicity. Bus, railways, taxis, etc. can be advertising and marketing.

Wucheng site is the first large-scale human-inhabited Shang Dynasty site found in Jiangnan, located in Wucheng Village, Shanqian Township, Yushu City, on the hilly slopes of Xiaojiang. After six scientific excavations, the site has been exposed to an area of more than 2,000 square meters, and the cultural accumulation is ranging from 2 to 3 meters. It is divided into seven floors and divided into three phases of culture. A total of 2 houses were cleaned up, 12 kiln sites, 55 ash pits and 16 foundations were buried. More than 900 pieces of stone, pottery, bronze, jade, dental carvings and other pieces, especially the unearthed of pottery, original porcelain and cast copper tools, are a major new discovery in Jiangxi archaeology.  Open time: open all day  Ticket price: free.
