Treading on the Thirteen Tombs, touring the entire Ming Dynasty in a day. In ancient China, there was a type of architecture that occupied a very high position in the hearts of Chinese feudal rulers, that is, the mausoleum. Among the many mausoleums, the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty must be mentioned. * Thirteen Tombs Business Card The Thirteen Tombs, located at the foot of Tianshou Mountain in the northern part of Changping District, Beijing, are the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It started construction in the seventh year of Ming Yongle (1409) and lasted until the early years of the Qing Dynasty, lasting for more than 230 years. The area of the Thirteen Tombs is about 40 square kilometers, which is the most complete and most emperor-buried imperial tomb group in the world. * The 'Three Emperors' Missing from the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty From the time Zhu Yuanzhang proclaimed himself emperor in 1368 to the fall of Beijing in 1644 when Li Zicheng attacked, and the Chongzhen Emperor committed suicide, the Ming Dynasty was destroyed, a total of 276 years. During this period, a total of 16 emperors were in power, so which three emperors are not in the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty? There are around 13 tombs but only a few are open for visitors. The zen garden or the entrance is so photogenic if the climate is good. The tombs have interesting architectural designs, history and relics. The original relics are moved to some place else though. 👣 Best to have a local guide to take you as there are so much history behind this and need someone who know the history to explain the past. The museum at the entrance of the establishment is definitely worth a visit, lots to see. There was once an underground tomb but it seemed not allow to be visited anymore. There are parking lots outside each attraction, and there are plenty of parking spaces, which is very convenient. If you don't drive, there are buses outside each attraction, and some tour buses, which are also good choices! 3⃣Tour route: We are Sacred Way - Dingling - Changling Dingling - Changling - Sacred Way - Zhaoling Reason: Dingling is the only one with an underground palace, you must go! Changling is Zhu Di's, with Nanmu Hall and so on, it's worth going! Although the Sacred Way is not a tomb, the stone statues on both sides are worth a look.
