Traveling to Serbia, you must see the stunningly beautiful churches in Belgrade!!!
Follow for another bite of Belgrade
Revisiting the place: Saint Sava Church~ The church is located on a hill in the eastern part of Belgrade's old town and is the largest Orthodox church in the world.
The last time I was here, the exterior construction was completed~ The interior was still being renovated, but this time I finally saw the church's interior in all its glittering glory, truly stunning.
The grand and majestic dome and the surrounding walls feature golden, gigantic mosaic murals, covering a total area of over 15,000 square meters, ranking among the world's largest mosaics.
Leaving Saint Sava Church~ Walking down Knez Mihailova Street to the end, you'll find Kalemegdan Fortress, Serbia's most famous park, built in the 17th century~ Inside there are some medieval gates with both Islamic and Ottoman styles.
The entire fortress is built of huge stone blocks, and to this day, you can still see the architectural remnants of ancient Rome and the Austro-Hungarian Empire~ Walking to the northwest end of the castle, sitting on the high walls of Belgrade Fortress, you can see the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Walking back from Belgrade Fortress, after seven years, I return to the Moscow Hotel~ Winter is a great time for hot red wine.
The Moscow Hotel is a long-renowned hotel in Belgrade, with a strong Viennese Secession style. Once upon a time~ all of Yugoslavia considered going to the Moscow Hotel for coffee a grand and beautiful event in life???
The Church of St. Sava is located in Belgrade, Serbia's capital, and is the largest church in the Orthodox Church. Opens at 8 am and can be visited. Tickets are free. The interior is magnificent. The murals are exquisite.
Just in time for a wedding in the underground hall, the bride and groom are very beautiful. The exterior and interior of the church are not famous, and the sun penetrates from the flower windows on the high floors, making people feel a mysterious feeling.
There are many taverns around, the taste is also good, and the consumption level in Belgrade is still very low. We bought beer around. The beer here is really delicious and cheap.
The largest Orthodox church in the world, all the external marble barricade walls, magnificent, the interior round and the whole bronze casting, the murals are exquisite, magnificent, the upper and lower two floors, there are four large clock towers on the four corners, it is worth a visit.
The 2nd largest orthodox church in the world according to my tour guide. This place is huge, do take a look.
Sveti Sava Cathedral was built in 1935, is a very large Orthodox church, is said to be the largest in the world, has seen many churches, but I bet you did not see this, due to financial problems, from 1935 to the present has not been built, after watching an idea~ no! less! spend! money!
Belgrade St. Sava Cathedral is the largest Orthodox church in the world. The church is 91 meters long and 81 meters long. The church itself is 70 meters high. The top of the golden cross is 12 meters, the total height is 82 meters, and the altitude is 134 meters. It has 49 bells. Can accommodate 10,000 people. Who is St. Sava? He was the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church, originally the prince, but "not doing business", founded the Serbian Orthodox Church, and then pulled his father, the old king, gave up the throne, and went out together. The Serbian Orthodox Church was founded in 1192 and was crowned Archbishop of Serbia by the Patriarch of Constantine in 1219. In 1595, the Ottoman Turks, the prime minister, Sinan Pasha, destroyed the will of the Serbs in order to suppress the uprising, burned the remains of the saint Sava in the present position, and then the locals began in the 17th century to build the world's largest Orthodox church in this location.
It is worth seeing the church. It is very beautiful and it is still actually in use. When I went there, I just caught up with the locals for the wedding. It is rare to feel the local customs. The location of the church is also good. It is very easy to find. There are trams and buses. Just behind the high court, it is the city center. I also met Chinese tourists here, which is really not easy in Serbia. The interior decoration of the church is also very good, the only embarrassment is that it is under renovation and maintenance...but it is still open.
