🚶‍♀️Step into the heart of Australia—the Red Centre. A brand-new five-day immersive hiking journey, ten years in the making, will take you through the majestic Kata Tjuta rock domes, traversing landscapes shaped over 500 million years, all the way to Australia's heart, Uluru.

Approximately 54 kilometers over 5 days and 4 nights, this is the first and only multi-day hiking route with exclusive overnight stays inside the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

🧭 Five-day itinerary overview 
Day 1⃣️|Kata Tjuta ➡️ Camp 1 (approx. 8.4 km) After a welcome ceremony by Indigenous elders, start on the Valley of the Winds trail. Walk through towering Kata Tjuta formations while guides share ancient Tjukurpa legends. Fall asleep under the stars at the dune campsite. 
Day 2⃣️|South Kata Tjuta ➡️ Camp 2 (approx. 16.5 km) Depart at dawn to explore southern dunes, picnic in the shade while gazing at Uluru on the horizon. Arrive at Camp 2 by evening, soothe your feet in a warm spa, and enjoy dinner under the sunset and starry sky. 
Day 3⃣️|Desert Trail ➡️ Private lodge (approx. 16.5 km) Trek through red sand plains and woodlands, encountering local wildlife along the way; stay overnight in a private mountain lodge with stunning views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a relaxing massage and a gourmet dinner prepared by the chef. 
Day 4⃣️|Lungkata & Mutitjulu Walk (approx. 12.3 km, optional extra 8 km) Visit the sacred Mutitjulu waterhole at Uluru’s base, listen to elders recount sacred rock stories. Tour the cultural center, and if you have the energy, complete the full Uluru base walk. 
Day 5⃣️|Private lodge ➡️ Yulara (approx. 0.8 km) On the final day, quietly watch the desert sunrise, stroll through desert shrubs to the transfer point, concluding this gentle journey from red earth to soul. 
🍃 The hiking route is operated by the Tasmanian Walking Company in collaboration with the Anangu Indigenous people and will open on April 30, 2026.
