We enjoyed a fine meal at De Fortuna when visiting Edam during a cycling trip. Cuisine was cooked to a high standard. Service was a little slow although the restaurant was full. Overall we had a memorable stay and would recommend the restaurant to others. There aren&#39;t many choices in Edam so do book ahead!

De Fortuna

The first-ranked restaurant in the small fishing village, the fork, arrived very early. There was no waiter in the restaurant. Let us choose a seat. If it is not so cold, I also want to choose the environment outside to see the sea view. Of course, the menu outside knows that this is a century-old store. Every review on the Internet mentioned that the smoked salmon fruit is not as good as it is delicious. The fish meat is absolutely fresh. There is crispy bread below. I also ordered a tape with lobster juice. This is a bit like paella. The lobster juice is very good. The taste of the rice is exactly the same as the fish and chips eaten in Spain. The price of the drink is normal. It is not because it is an online red store. It is estimated that it will be more beautiful in summer.

Food was god, service was BAD! To say at least rude towards non Dutch speeking customers. It was a busy day, and that could have made a difference, but it is a touristic place with a lot of foreigners.

Delicious food at affordable prices, friendly staff and a lovely setting - the perfect way to enjoy Edam, we&#39;ll definitely be back again. Thank you!

Beautiful restaurant in a stunning village. We ha d a good dinner except the cheese plate which was not a success for us. The wine was very good also
