Disappointed with smoked haddock fish cakes not value for money

Second visit, lovely place in a lovely setting will definitely come again.First visit sat by the fire, second visit outside by the canal. Food and service great.

The service was excellent and we didn&rsquo;t have to wait for our drinks and the food was served pretty quickly too . The food was excellent as always

The menu has been cut back it&rsquo;s almost impossible to choose . I decided to have a king size prawn and mango salad they were not king size prawns they were minute , had ice cream for dessert , 3 small spoons of ice cream for &pound;6/95 , &pound;2 /30 for a small  spoon of ice cream , not good

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Very clean establishment. The food was excellent and portion sizes were good. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Food was good but lacking in garnish and presentation.  Requires more thought and creativity from the chef.  The atmosphere was good but music a little loud for diners wishing to have a conversation.  Perhaps the DJ could be positioned away from diners or the dining area shuffled around to provide the opportunity for conversation without shouting.

I am local and have always loved this place. I&rsquo;m afraid we locals still refer to it as &quot;The Foaming Jug&quot;. There is a lovely &quot;olde worlde&rsquo; ambience about the place and the staff always so friendly and &quot;nice&quot;. Needless to say the food is excellent.
