My friends and I ate here for the traditional English Sunday roast - I've always wanted THE roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and I got it! Reservations are a must, and the Sunday roast is served only during very specific hours (and of course on Sunday). The tavern was full up, noisy and cheerful, very relaxing and a nice local crowd, not a lot of tourists (of which I am one lol). The roast is served in a jumbo, plate-sized Yorkshire pudding which is filled with the meat, potatoes, veg and gravy. Showstopper! I need to go back again and have this as I was too busy talking to really savor every bite. Nice wine selection, I had a kir royale which hit the spot. The sticky toffee pudding was a little dry, next time I would get their apple/pear crumble. Service was lovely; we sat there until twilight and most of the pub had cleared out. It was so nice to sit and chat and not be rushed out, In the US they'd be picking you up by the collar to get you out the door so they can turn those covers! Definitely will make a point to return on my next trip to UK.
