What travelers say:
Shuangdi Old Street is located in the three groups of Baiyanshui Village, Jingyang Town, Jianshi County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, five kilometers away from Jingyang Town, and facing the north and south of Jingyang Xiongguan on the north bank of the Qingjiang River. The old street has a history of 300 years. It was named after the salt road station in ancient times, because it dug out two stones that resembled the land of Bodhisattvas and built two land temples during the Qing Shunzhi period. Shuangdi Old Street was once the center of politics, economy and culture. Before liberation, it was the seat of the Kuomintang township office. During the Second Civil Revolutionary War, the Red Sixth Army, led by Marshal He Long, established the Soviet Red regime here. After liberation, it was the residence of the Jingyang District office until the early 1960s. It is said that Marshal He Long once led the Red Army to station here. The terrain of Shuangdi Old Street is steep and the house is built on the mountain. The main reasons for its formation are twofold: first, it was used as a border trade town of Rongmei Tosi at that time; second, its unique geographical location. The old street is divided into the street and the street. The street is about two meters wide. The slabs are paved and very neat. The sewer is located under the slabs of the street. The street has stone carvings leaking every few steps, which is convenient for rainwater to leak without making the street area water. On both sides of the street are low wooden houses, most of the first floor, because of the long time and appear old and vicissitudes, from the window sill cabinets set up to see the traces of past business.
