Grand Friday Mosque

Friday's Grand Mosque is really big! It is the largest mosque in the Maldives, located in the capital Male, and can accommodate more than 5,000 people at the same time. Friday Mosque (Grand Friday Mosque) is located in the Islamic center, three floors, high round golden roof glittering, aka the Great Mosque, is one of the largest mosques in the Arab world and the earliest architectural site of the existing caliphate, located in the Iraqi city of Samara. The Grand Mosque was built in 848 by the caliphate Mutawakile. At that time, the building area was 10,000 square meters and it was available for 10,000 worshippers. The temple inherited and drew on the architectural traditions and architectural art characteristics of ancient Persian, ancient India and Babylon. The entire monastery is huge rectangular, 238 meters north and south, 155 meters east and west, surrounded by tall and heavy brick walls, which are considered the most spectacular of the ancient Arab and Muslim mosques. The main hall of 25 arcades is located on the south side of the monastery, and a smaller hall on each of the other three sides. These corridors are more than 9 meters high and supported by marble columns. The four temples surround a large central courtyard with ornate fountains in the center of the courtyard, built of hollow bricks, and designed in a completely strict shape like the Medina Mosque. There are Mihalab's recesses on the front wall of the main temple. The rectangular windows of the temples have leafy bow frames. The Grand Mosque is most famous for having a minaret similar to the ancient Babylonian pyramids or Assyrian temple towers.
