Siyue Academy Site

Siyue Academy is located in Dongmen Pedestrian Street, Luohu District. It was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 300 years. It was originally the ancestral hall of Zhang surnamed in the Ming Dynasty. It is a famous family in Shenzhen. Huaiyue and Nianyue are the ancestors of Xiangxi Village, Hubei Village, Shuibei and Tianbei. The original site of Siyue Academy is at No. 22 Nanqing Street. It is a historical site familiar to the old Shenzhen people. It was later moved to the current site and rebuilt in 1997, still retaining the original style. In June 1925, it was established as a reception station for the provincial and Hong Kong strikes for the special representatives of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. "Integrating learning for the people and benefiting the people" is the consistent aim of the ancient Siyue Academy. Today, Siyue Academy has a hollow character of "one of the best in China" and a folk-cut art of cut characters; "Wheat Heat Transfer" and "Doudou Painting" are vivid; the four treasures of the study are all available; each piece of landscape porcelain is exquisite.
