#joeforts is a sailor originally from barbados and a legend in #vancouver history. He moved to Vancouver in 1885 to work as a bartender at a hotel in #gastown while teaching hundreds of children how to swim as an unofficial security guard. When he died in 1922, Vancouver residents spontaneously mourned him and formed the longest funeral procession in Vancouver. Even in the 21st century, Vancouver people built many memorial sites near his home, many libraries and restaurants named after him in 1985, a hundred years after he came to Vancouver. Now, domestic and foreign customers are constantly trying to taste their seafood. The more famous is Happy Hour's one dollar and one oyster 🦪, but now it has risen to a piece of five; there are also lobster 🦞 burgers, signature coffee cakes, etc. Interested friends can try it.
