The Gongtang Pagoda was first built in 1805 and was founded by the famous scholar of Labrang Temple, Master III Gongtangcang Gongqu Danbei Zhongmei, formerly known as the "now insight out of the Shwedagon Pagoda", which is famous for the infinity Buddha statue (Amitabha Buddha) that was invited from Nepal. In 1806, Emperor Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty gave a piece of "Buddha light". After the fourth and fifth generations of Gong Tangcang masters spent a lot of money, several repairs, in the architectural art and religious sense to achieve a perfect sacred realm. The pagoda has been through a hundred years of vicissitudes, but unfortunately destroyed in the "cultural revolution". In 1980, after the opening of the Labrang Monastery, Master Tangcang Danbewangxuan of the VI Gong, in order to revive the Zongfeng, the martyrdom and the people, many parties rushed, and worked hard, and with the support of the state, overseas Chinese and religious people, he personally presided over the construction of the net land ritual on February 8, 1991. After two and a half years, in July 1993, the great festival of Falun was turned into the Falun at the beginning of Buddha Sakyamuni, and the ceremony of eternal light was held.
