It was ok. The only thing that they need to improve are the toilet and breakfast options. Toilet has stain and it doesn’t look neat. Other than that it was a good stay.
The furniture and bedding of this hotel are also good, the environment is beautiful and comfortable, the service is very thoughtful, it is close to the shopping mall, there are restaurants everywhere, and it is convenient in the city center.
We paid $289 incl. Taxes had to pay an extra $22 for parking which I wasn't aware of. Room was clean other than coke stains on the wall and water in the sink not draining very good. The view was a concrete wall of the next building. 🥴
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast included was definitely the best part of the stay because it wasn't a continental breakfast but a freshly made egg omelet with sausage, waffles, bagels, and of course coffee or tea. The downside of the stay was being close to a busy road and traffic can be a little noisy.
It looks clean on the outside, but it was a pity that dust was noticeable in every corner. The location and view were all good, but despite being a motel, I was so surprised to receive a deposit of $200.
The hotel is very cost-effective. The kitchen has an induction cooker, which is very useful. The service staff are also very enthusiastic and responsible. Very comfortable stay.
For the price, the size of the room (2 bedroom and kitchen) and the location with convenient parking it’s honestly a very good stay and deal for a family. The beach is literally right there, the parking is in front of your room door and the pool is nice too.
That being said, there’s a few things you should be aware of that other people mentioned in their comments. The bad smell other mentioned is true, it’s on and off smells like laundry that stayed in the washer. The AC/Fridge are indeed loud. The overall cleanliness is not so great, but I believe the beds and sheets were clean and that’s kind of all that matters in the end.
The hotel is in a prime location, the front desk service is standard, the room is clean and sanitary, 2 bottles of drinking water are provided, there is a microwave and refrigerator, a rich breakfast, and free parking.

GGuest UserStaff was totally excellent. The room is clean. Bed is very comfortable. The hot tub was just fantastic. Nice swimming pool. Food was good and I have no complaints at all.
SSteven C KFor the price, it is very sufficient. Many aspects of the room felt outdated, but it was all fully functional and clean with no problems. Personally I prefer it this way since you get the savings and the function which is what really matter.
Staff were all nice and I loved that I could check in at 2AM with staff available to assist me.
GGuest UserThe hotel staff are very helpful. I always leave bags when I’m away skiing for the week.
Checked in quickly.
Rooms are big, immaculately clean, quiet and have v comfy beds. They are also nicely decorated. Got coffee machine, fridge, microwave & good wifi. Breakfast is pretty good. Got some fresh fruit, decent scrambled eggs, yoghurt and porridge if wanting more healthy options.
It has a pool which is nice.
Hall decor is now a bit dated and could do with being re-decorated.
GGeiorgiestravelsVery convenient location if your sim is to be right in the city center. The two subway train lines are within a couple of minutes walk ,as is the main high street. The Canada line provides a direct route to the train station (tip: buy a day ticket and it will cost less that the ticket to cross zones plus the additional airport surcharge). The Canada line is so convenient that if you did not care about being in the city center then staying somewhere else along the line further out may be cheaper.
Hostel was clean and well organized. There is a strict no eating in the room policy, though there are kitchen facilities to be used. Hire a towel. Rooms and front entrance has key card access. Room has no Aircon so can be warm, though there is a small electric fan.
The room with two beds has bunk bed, cages under the bed and a stool….that is it. There are no privacy curtains, individual dockets or lights for each bed, only the main room light so make sure you have a touch/light, though as the curtains do not block all street light the room feels as it has a nightlight on and does not ever get really dark.
I stayed Saturday and Sunday night. Sunday was quiet , though the hostel is above a bar and do Saturday had music playing for many hours while trying to get to sleep not the place for light sleepers.
MMariaThe spot of the hotel was fine but not really near in downtown. The only accessible was the orchard mall its just 2minutes walk. But overall it was a good place to stay. Quite and clean!
Qqj0315No toothbrushes or slippers were initially provided, but they were promptly supplied upon request. The room was clean, the bedding felt fresh, and the location was convenient.
AAnonymous UserOur 2 bedroom suite has 3 stories. The entrance was on the 2nd floor, there were no elevators. On the second floor there were 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and laundry. Go up a flight of stairs there’s the living room, kitchen and dining area, and a powder room.
The house was generally clean and tidy. But when we were about to go to sleep we saw a few strands of hair under the pillows and it was quite disturbing.
We knew it was not our hair because we saw it just as we were going to bed and picked up the pillows to fluff them; no one had used the bed yet.
We then opened the blanket to check and there was one strand of hair under the covers too.
Management apologized for it and was sincere but that did not help with our experience.
It was the hair under the pillows that made us feel that bedsheets were likely not changed.
A few other things: Headrail of blind was loose and fell down when we opened the blind.
In the kitchen cooking oil/condiments seemed to be provided, but was empty.
Overall I would probably have rated this stay 4.5 stars if it wasn’t for the hair on the bedsheets. That made us all feel very uneasy
GGuest UserAvid traveller and honest review. Booked 3 days and got an older room with a plug in oil heater and fan because baseboard not renovated. Crowded plug in and power bar behind a dusty tv to run it all. But budget so rather expected a few things. Had to stay one more day so booked online , got a better room but upon arriving found a young women passed out briefly with a “pipe” in her hand right at the entrance and because children where on premise I reported as I booked in and it seemed blown off. A man then lead said girl in who was obviously “working” but also in no shape to give consent and I said to the clerk exactly that as well that she had blood down the back of her legs, who seemed to blow it off. I am disturbed with the fact that the young woman was easily going to be victimized. So , if you are ok with that, and no guarantee of your room quality then this is the place . Horrible accommodation, no ,I’ve seen worse, and second room was certain up to par, but the neighbourhood may also allow for other types of “stays” it seems because it was absolutely blatant. But hey, it was cheap!
DDev_TirthoI stayed at Recreation Inn during my recent trip to Kelowna, and overall, it was a decent experience for the price. The standout for me was the Saturday breakfast – simple but on point. It was served buffet-style with a good mix of egg muffins, fruit, bread, and juice. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, making for a nice start to the day.
The room itself was clean and had all the basic amenities I needed, but I have to admit, the condition of the room felt quite dated. The furniture and decor could really use an upgrade, and there was an unpleasant musty odor in the room that lingered throughout my stay, which definitely affected my comfort.
The staff were polite and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The location is convenient, close to some restaurants and not far from the lake, which was a bonus.
If you’re looking for a basic place to crash for a night or two and don’t mind a bit of an older vibe, it could work. But if you’re sensitive to smell or looking for something modern and more refreshed, this might not be the best fit.
GGuest UserI had a 15 hour layover (daytime hours) in Vancouver, and I was exhausted and needed somewhere to get a bit of rest before the next leg of my flight. I had stayed there literally a week prior - same reason - long layover.
Check in is typically 3pm - and I needed to check in at 8am. I called to see if they could help - they were super accommodating and had no issue getting me into a room that early. Upon arriving at the front desk, he suggested I get some breakfast in the “lounge” before heading up to my room as they were serving it until around 10 or so.
When it was time to check out, the shuttle wasn’t available, so he called me a taxi and they covered the cost.
Both stays I have had here have been great. The hotel is not high end no, but it’s warm and clean. And the customer service is phenomenal. I will absolutely stay here every time I’m in Vancouver .
