GGuest UserRevisiting Chuxin Homestay was just as delightful as the first time! This time, I chose the Early Summer King Room, which was absolutely fantastic. It's spacious and even comes with a mahjong table, offering distant views of the mountains. Every photo I took was stunning, no filter needed!
The service and cleanliness were, once again, impeccable. Staying for three nights, the room was cleaned spotless every single day. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and I slept incredibly sound and deep each night. It felt just like the comfort of home, instantly curing all my travel fatigue.
The location is simply unbeatable. It's super convenient for dining and shopping nearby; you can walk to authentic Yangshuo-style farmhouse restaurants. Getting to tourist spots is also quick and hassle-free. The biggest surprise, though, was Fa Cai, the adorable and well-behaved pet at the homestay. He's so affectionate, and I'd spend ages petting him every time I passed by – he instantly brightened my mood.
I've already added this place to my top must-stay list for Yangshuo. I'll definitely choose Chuxin again next time. It's a perfect score for both value for money and the overall experience. You can book with confidence; you won't be disappointed! ✨

GGiuliaThis place is a jewel nestled on the hills over Xingping. Rooms are really nice and comfortable, the common area is almost poetic, with the long table over the terrace, and food is really delicious!
Even if the location is quite remote, you can count on the owner to go to and from the small harbour on the river, and they will also help you with directions for all the surrounding areas.
I had chosen this place mainly for its convenient location for Damianshan mountain: I was expecting to see a fantastic sunrise from the top. I am a little disappointed because the trail was not so easy to follow when we visited: vegetation hid the trail in several points and we were not able to find the last part and reach the top. I have already highlighted this to the boss so I hope they will adjust this in the future. ;) Unfortunately I only had one night / one sunrise so I missed my opportunity... we had to stop at a lower point with a nice view, but well, not *that* view. ;)
Anyway, it's my only regret, for the rest everything was perfect. Thanks for everything!

GGuest UserThe hotel is perfectly located, clean, and has a rooftop, which is also a restaurant, that has an amazing view of the river and the mountains around it.
The room comes fully equipped, with water bottles, tooth brush, kettle, hairdryer, etc.
The reception lady, and maybe owner (I don't know, but she definitely could be), speaks perfect English and was very kind and helpful with practical and sightseeing information. The vibe is laidback and family like.
I would definitely recommend.

22morrowsworldRelatively cheap accommodation with window/balcony facing karst mountain, and just 100m from the Li River. Some nice Thai themed embellishments decorate the rooms. Bed is only a small 'double' and has one useable powerpoint near bed right side + light controls. Aircon works well (only small room so to be expected). Overall, OK for 100 RMB per night, but does have a few issues.
Booked the 'special promotion' room. Trip.com indicates a room size of 12m square metres, which is incorrect. I measured it at 9.5 square, including the bathroom. If including the small balcony (2.5 sq m), the total room area is 12m best case. Only large enough for single occupancy, with small amount of luggage. Two people would need to climb over eachother to move around. No where near enough space for two - luggage would need to be kept outside on the balcony!
Hot water works but is not properly calibrated. Either boiling hot or freezing cold. Extremely difficult to find the right temperature to shower with any comfort. I put full hot, and waited. Water got super hot after 40 seconds. Adjusted to reduce by setting at middle between hot/cold, but water temperature remained super hot. Then pushed to full cold. Water temperature transitioned to cold 29 seconds later. Then put back to middle position but water remained dead cold. Tested this both ways for at least 4 minutes each and remained either scolding hot or freezing cold!!
Hotel provides signs to indicate desire to 'please clean room' and I hang this on outer door handle for two days, but to no avail So can only assume the owners don't provide this service. This establishment is only rated as a 2 star hotel, and given the low price point, you really can't complain - on the condition that the tariff is low. Acceptable for 100 -120 RMB per night. Unacceptable for much more than this though.

YYanyongqianI arrived in Guilin from Kunming late after 12 am and there is no tourist information counter staff at the airport to tell me where to wait for the hotel's airport transfer driver. Fortunately an airline check-in counter officer helped me call the hotel to find out where to wait for the driver. Please note wait for the driver next to the police kiosk after leaving Gate 6 of the domestic arrival terminal and crossing the lane. It took me 15 minutes to identify the driver because the driver did not show the placard showing the hotel name Shanshuiyunshang Hotel. The driver was impatiently waiting for a foreign tourist. So I identified myself as a Singaporean looking for the transfer driver of the hotel. He replied that I can follow him, who did not declare the hotel's name. Thank God he brought a group of tourists and me to Shanshuiyunshang Hotel to check-in. I also thank God that the driver escorts me to the Airport Flower Field, which is 569 metres away from the hotel, for plane-spotting, and I walk back to the hotel within 10 minutes to check-out of the hotel for my outgoing trip from Guilin after completing my plane-spotting mission. Other than the hotel airport transfer driver, there is the odour of smoke in the room but I have to bear with it until I leave and I cannot access the hotel wifi by scanning the QR code. The hotel restaurant is very small but dragonfruit is served and the breakfast amount is sufficient to fill my hunger. Shanshuiyunshang Hotel is one of several hotels along the road of Liangjiang Town that has accommodation for tourists but this hotel is the only one in Liangjiang Town to be listed on Trip.com. I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting in Liangjiang Town, the famous airport town of Guangxi.

The people were so friendly and they were always available on WeChat to help me out (thank you for helping me buy the bus tickets at such a late notice 🤭). Nearby were also many great restaurants（I recommend the nearby 阿秀米粉店 😋). I also greatly appreciated the curtains attached to the beds for some privacy. It's conveniently located next to the train station, but you will need to take a bus or a train to see some beautiful nature, as it is located in the middle of the city of Guilin.

GGuest UserThis guest house left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the good things. The location is super convenient: right in the old town and yet in a relatively quiet area. It's close to the river so you can take a refreshing night stroll, and close to a delicious bakery/café you'll never forget. The atmosphere of the guest house is rustic and cozy, with a laundry room that, despite its very limited space, serves the purpose. There are also cats and a dog you can freely play with. The bed was comfortable for us (a bit on the harder side). The owners speak English so you can easily communicate with them. They are very kind and helpful.
However, a few things about this stay got me extremely disappointed, particularly taking into consideration the positive reviews I had read (which honestly I don't understand where they came from). The room was far from clean. There was a very visible layer of dust. The cushion seats had huge stains and looked dirty overall. The shower room did not get cleaned very regularly, as you can see from the picture. In general everything in the property looked outdated and cheap (wobbly sink taps, doors with huge gaps, that give way to all sorts of bugs and giant spiders..). The fact that the toilet is next to the shower room leaves no room for privacy and makes the toilet floor wet most of the time (this could be solved with a proper shower door instead of a curtain). In conclusion, I was more than happy to leave the property because it did not meet my standards for comfort and hygiene. However, if you don't particularly care about a certain degree of dirt and dust here and there, and are cool with bugs, then you should definitely go for it as you might really like the retro atmosphere of the place.

GGuest UserIt was the best experience so far in China 🇨🇳. The owner of the hostel was organising excursions and both of them were really cool and adventurous. The first one was climbing and hiking to get to the most beautiful view of Guilin that you could possibly think of. The second one was the exploration of a cave, it was so crazy, we were hiking in places that I can define hidden gems. Both of the evenings after the activities we went to very good restaurants. I had the opportunity to go where actual locals dine at. I can suggest to anyone else to book this hostel, it's not a place to crash the night, but it is a place where you can build memories. Thank you very much!

PPanduoduoI absolutely love this place! It's genuinely the cleanest B&B I've ever stayed in. I was worried about humidity in the room due to the typhoon, but it was totally unnecessary – even the sheets felt warm. The whole house has an excellent lighting system, making the environment bright and airy. Plus, the night market is just a short walk away from the back entrance. If I wasn't heading home, I would definitely extend my stay for another two or three days!
