2-Star Hotels in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Only stayed for one night, when we attended an event in Cologne. The hotel was so convenient to find. On the S-bahn, it was 1 stop away from the central train station, and about a 5 minute walk from S-bahn stop to hotel. Lovely modern. clean hotel, comfortable bed & pillows, great shower, fluffy towels. Actually better than some European hotels that charge a lot more. I would stay again and would also look for this brand in other cities.

There are two ways to get back to the hotel. One way is to go from the train station, detour to the subway station, and then come up. This route is better as you avoid the sun and it's easier to push luggage. The other way is to exit the train station, walk past the Cologne Cathedral, cross the road, and reach the hotel. This takes about 7-8 minutes with luggage, so it's a bit further. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage upstairs, which I really appreciated. They also offer free coffee and water.

lovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers.

Very friendly service, perfect location though noisy due to its proximity to the train station. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the furnishings were quite run-down: torn bed linen, windows that didn't close properly, a broken lamp, and a shattered lamp in the bathroom.

As a solo female traveler, I chose a place with good access from the station! The staff were kind, and the breakfast bread was delicious. They also have a storage room, so my luggage was kept safe. It's about a 3-minute walk from the World Heritage church! I stayed for two nights and went there every day because it was so close. I had heard about the train situation in Germany beforehand, but the delays were significant, so I was really glad I didn't choose a place far from the airport or station that relied on train travel. Thanks to that, I kept my train usage to a minimum.

Nice place, well located. It's very clean and you can leave your luggage in their lobby lockers before the check-in. They also have a kettle, a microwave and a fridge in the bar-lobby area.

Overall, it was okay, though it’s not the best hotel imaginable. The location is excellent—it’s a quick and easy walk to the cathedral or the train station. Keep in mind that there is no elevator. There is a narrow staircase, so you’ll have to carry your luggage up to the higher floors. The room is very small; it is genuinely difficult to fit and open two suitcases at the same time. We visited during a very hot spell, so staying in the room without air conditioning was tough. We had to keep the window and doors open to create a cross-breeze. One unpleasant surprise was the complete lack of breakfast; it turned out they had decided not to prepare it due to the heat. However, there was a nice café right across the street. Still, if you just need a place to sleep and the weather isn't too hot, this place works fine.

Had the worst night's sleep ever here. Didn't realise it was a hostel when booking it and was woken on Easter Sunday morning at 4am by loads of shouting teenagers and just as you drop off at 5am it starts again. We had an early train to catch out of Aachen, so this was really disruptive. Walls are paper thin too, the only upside was you couldn't hear anything outside through the windows! No tea or coffee in the room, just a basic room with shower and separate toilet area, no storage area for luggage either. There was a bar area in the reception. Be mindful that Trip.com does not have this place listed as a hostel.

The guy at the reception was super helpful! We were able to leave our bags in the locked room in the morning and explore without any hassle. Thanks for everything! The location is pretty central; you can walk almost anywhere in about 15 minutes.

I stayed here when I went to see Cologne Cathedral. It's close to the station and seems to have a good security atmosphere, so I was able to travel without any worries. Thank you for your kind hospitality at check-in. The room was clean, which was nice. Soap, shampoo, etc. are not provided, so remember to bring your own. It was a shame that I couldn't have breakfast because check-out was before 7am, but it's no problem if you just want to take a shower and sleep. The other person in my room was also sensible, so it was a comfortable stay. Thank you.
