Great location but difficult to find on the map. Look at my picture to see what the outside entrance looks like because there is no name or identifying marks of the hotel on the outside. They’re on the 5th floor. The staff were also very friendly and hospitality.
I stayed at the Rammes Hostel in Egypt for several nights and had a very comfortable experience overall. The location is convenient, not far from major attractions, and the surrounding area has good amenities. The rooms were clean and tidy, the common areas were spacious, and the atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for travelers to chat. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing a lot of useful information, which made me feel at ease. The price was reasonable, offering great value for money, making it an excellent accommodation choice for backpackers visiting the area. I highly recommend it.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent — close to the main attractions and easy to reach everything I needed. The Egyptian breakfast was delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, which made it a perfect choice for solo travelers. I also appreciated the overall safety and calm atmosphere in the hotel.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient, clean, and budget-friendly stay in the city!
This was an ok hostel stay. I would have rated 5/5 had it not been for 3 things:
1. Had to rent towels
2. Smoking right outside the door, which meant the reception/common area reeked of smoke whenever someone was smoking.
3. Flies were buzzing around at breakfast time.
At the reception, the man explained to us that if we book a more expensive room, there would be a shower in the room. We booked it right in front of him, but he gave us a room without a shower. We argued for a long time and then gave in. He misinformed us. The floor in the room was dirty, which we didn't like either.
Hidden in what appears to be a ruined building in a bustling shopping street, this guesthouse has an inconspicuous sign. If you can't find it, ask the roadside vendors. It's only 61 yuan a night, so there's not much to expect. If you're renting it to store your luggage, please note that this guesthouse is on the top floor (5th floor). Carrying large luggage up there will be extremely tiring.
1. **Amenities**: The room has essential amenities like a water heater and air conditioning, but you'll need to bring your own bath towels.
2. **Cleanliness**: The room was generally clean, though some minor details could use more attention.
3. **Environment**: The guesthouse itself is pretty average, but the surrounding area is relatively pleasant.
4. **Service**: The owner is nice and the service was good.
The first time I checked in, I felt that this hotel was very good and I was satisfied with everything. But the second time, it was full of problems. There were all kinds of problems with this hotel. First, because it was my second time staying at this hotel, I deliberately did not make a reservation in advance and went directly to the hotel to ask them the price. The hotel said the price for one night was 970 ebms, which shocked me. I checked the platform and found that the price for one night was only more than 400. Then I made a reservation on the platform, and the hotel staff was very unhappy. Second, my friend came to the hotel to visit me. As soon as he stepped into the door of the hotel, the hotel staff ran to me and said that I needed to pay 200 ebms because I brought a friend in. I said I was leaving soon and was not here. He said no, as soon as you come in, you must pay 200 ebms before you can leave. Fortunately, when I checked in, I told their staff that a friend would come to see me the next day, and he said OK, so I escaped. In summary, this hotel has many pitfalls. You must ask clearly when making a reservation, otherwise it is easy to fall into the trap.
The shower was also hot water and A / C was also attached, and it was very comfortable as a cheap dormitory.
It was not a two-stage bed, but a single, and it was well selected and there was no insect.
There was a drink shop in front of the hotel.
Needless to say, the biggest experience would be an elevator.

GGuest UserThe room faced the street and was very noisy all night.

SSara DindarWe had a very good stay overall. Considering Cairo standards, the apartment was clean enough and comfortable. The neighborhood and location were excellent, with plenty of great restaurants and cafés nearby.
It’s also very close to the Nile—about a 7-minute walk. There are restaurants on boats along the river where you can enjoy a meal while taking in the view, and you can even go on a Nile cruise from the same area. Honestly, we didn’t need to take a taxi at all for dining or cafés. There’s also a really nice café right at the corner with excellent coffee—I highly recommend it.
The building itself was very quiet, and we didn’t hear any noise from neighbors at all. The only noise was from traffic on the street (cars and motorbikes), which is normal and not really a downside of the apartment.
The building had a security guard, and we were even able to leave our luggage with him after check-out, which made it much easier for us to explore the city before our flight.
Finally, special thanks to Michael, the host. He was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. No matter what time we messaged him, he always responded and guided us with any questions we had.
AAnonymous UserThe hostel is a welcome respite from the chaos of Cairo. Note that there are two floors, 1 and 4, but are connected by a vintage elevator as well as a stairwell. Breakfast provided each day was sincerely appreciated and delicious, made fresh for each person. The beds are comfortable and equipped with a small light and a power outlet to charge your devices. There is a common area to hang out with others and meet people. Some of the fittings are broken in the bathrooms but you will get by fine.
KKanistanI had a pleasant stay at Montana Hotel. The two young women at reception were fantastic—very helpful, attentive, and made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The hotel itself is comfortable enough and in a great central location, ideal for exploring downtown Cairo.
One small detail to note: the lift doesn’t have floor numbers displayed in English, so it’s useful to know that the hotel is located on the 7th floor.
Overall, a good value stay with excellent service at the front desk.
GGuest UserWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.
MM31216****I stayed in Egypt for a week by myself, so I didn't book a five-star hotel. From a 100-pound Airbnb to a 700-pound hotel, only this one and the 700-pound hotel had working air conditioning/heating, and the room cleanliness was among the top two 😥.
The downside is that this is more like renting out a private residence (the owner lives there too), and the apartment building and surrounding environment are quite poor, so you'll have to weigh the value for money yourself. For solo female travelers, I'd definitely recommend a hotel instead.
Also, I have to complain about the menu pricing. The same bottle of water costs 6 EGP (less than 1 RMB) at the downstairs supermarket. It's typical of places that charge domestic hotel prices without providing domestic hotel service quality.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum,
The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean.
The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly
I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them
** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn.
Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine
In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice
IIrina BudkoA good hotel in central Cairo. Located on the 12th floor, there are elevators. Traffic noise is negligible. You can order breakfast or coffee from the rooftop café. My room (124) had a spacious balcony, a modern shower, a refrigerator, and a closet. The staff was helpful.
