I was guided to a large and scenic room. Located on the West Bank, it is in a very quiet place overlooking the Royal Valley. At night, you can see the illuminated temple in the distance, and in the morning, at 6:30, when the sun starts climbing, you can see balloons rising in the valley of the royal family.
Highly recommend this hotel! It operates like a resort, with all services billed on a pay-as-you-go basis and settled at checkout.
The hotel can help book the Abu Simbel light show and offers chartered boat services for sunrise cruises around Nasser Lake (the sunrise and Abu Simbel temples in the pictures are from that chartered boat, for your reference). You can also book a tuk-tuk transfer to the temple entrance. Crucially, the owner is very trustworthy; there are no extra charges for bookings or last-minute price increases, which is a major reason for my five-star rating.
The hotel's decor is traditional Nubian-style, very beautiful, and you can tell the owner put a lot of thought into it. Also, their food is truly delicious, both dinner and breakfast. I recommend the grilled fish – it's amazing!
The hotel also provides transfer services from Aswan to Abu Simbel; you can contact them in advance via email to confirm details.
Please stay at this hotel when traveling to Abu Simbel! The rooms are clean with beds, wash basins, toilets and showers, and there are coolers and hair dryers so you can spend your time comfortably.
The owner and son are kind, playing and entertaining Nubian folk music, and making good memories of the trip. It's a new hotel just opened in 2026, but you can stay with peace of mind.
Breakfast is delicious with freshly made Egyptian food (traditional Nubia dishes) at the time specified here. Fruits and bottles of water were provided free of charge all day. We recommend Nubia's traditional coffee with ginger!
It is about 15 minutes walk to the temple of Abu Simbel. It is easy to walk, so there is no problem.
They also arrange tickets for the sound and light show at night in the temple. (I was very helpful because I couldn't buy it well on the Internet)
In addition, the driver for the movement will also be introduced at a reasonable price, so if you have trouble moving, please consult the hotel. I had a car transfer from Abu Simbel to Aswan.
I would definitely like to stay here when I visit Abu Simbel again!
About Sama Stars Hotel: Where the Sun Meets Nubian Hospitality
More Than a Stay—A Gateway to Ancient Egypt
Located in the heart of the prestigious Hay El Bunuk (Banks District), Sama Stars Hotel is more than just a destination; it is a family-run gateway to the wonders of Abu Simbel. Our hotel was born from a passion for the history of our land and a deep-rooted commitment to the legendary hospitality of the Nubian people.
At Sama Stars, we believe that the best way to experience the Great Temples of Ramses II and Nefertari is not as a hurried tourist, but as a welcomed guest.

In the town of Abu Simbe, it is very convenient to drive to arrive. You can park at the door. The owner said that there are two cameras to monitor, but when we left the next day, we found that the gasoline in the car was almost pumped out... This is the only stolen accident in Egypt... The hotel is a bit old, The staff service is very good, the English is not very good, you can use the translation app to communicate in Arabic. The room is small, but it is clean and the breakfast is simple. In addition to the gasoline theft incident, the overall living experience is still relatively good. If you spend the night in Abu Simbe, you can consider it. I don’t know if it’s because of the solar festival. The price is relatively outrageous and close to 500 RMB...
