I booked four twin rooms in this guesthouse for our group of 8. All I can say is that this guesthouse is absolutely lovely and breakfast is included in the bargain price. The rooms are over three floors in the main building and are a good size. The shower on each floor is hot and powerful and the breakfast is beautiful. The location is close to Hallgrimskirkja church two streets away from the rainbow street. Parking for us was a bit of an issue as it was free. This was overcome by parking overnight for free in the pay zones at the bottom of the road and moving the car by 9am. Spaces became available when the locals left for work. A weather warning delayed us travelling North for a day but the guesthouse let us stay in our rooms for an extra night for a very good price. We had access to all of the kitchen facilities including a microwave, hob and fan oven. Couldn't fault it. Great place, location, breakfast and lovely staff. We were all in agreement that we will definitely stay here again.

Reykjavik East
The location is not the best but 20 minutes walk from the downtown is acceptable. Love the designs of the hotel and the amenities. The room is very spacious and has most of the things you’d need for a stay. It is really nice to see coffee machine and fruits in room. Everything is very neat and tidy. However, the check-in process was not satisfactory. It is really hard to reach out to a staff in the hotel. The self-check-in process requires an email from the hotel that tells you the room number and passcode. Since the only pin is got was the booking pin but not the check-in pin, it took me long time to realise I did not possess the check-in pin to enter the hotel. The hotline provided by the hotel was not working at all. Thankfully trip.com’s CS was really helpful in contacting the hotel for me. The hotel’s staff were really friendly and polite but the fact that I didn’t receive the room no and passcode beforehand was still very frustrating. Therefore the best advice to book this hotel is to check whether you have the room number and passcode at least 1-2 days before your stay. Other than the check-in issue, I had a nice stay here.

Check-in was pretty smooth. I was allocated the room just above the main entrance as such, it can be quite noisy whenever people get in or out of the hostel with the door slamming and some vibration felt! The bathroom and wc are fairly clean and tidy. Very cosy common area to mingle and make new friends. Kitchen has all the basic necessity. I especially like the small area right outside my room where i can have a light meal and nice view of the surroundings. Bought the unlimited bus rides ticket via the Klappid app for travel within the Reykjavik capital city and bus svc 12 is just few steps away. If time permits, you can even walk to the coastal area for sight-seeing. Overall, i am very satisfied with my 8 nights stay at Laekur hostel!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Cabin very much, largely due to the eager-to-please staff, especially Lenny at the front desk. Rooms are small but quite adequate; I didn't expect to be spending a lot of time in the room except to sleep. (The bed was excellent.) The lobby area is a great [place to congregate and/or meet new people. After a long day of touring the many wonders of Iceland, I was very pleased to come back to the Cabin to relax. My only problem was with the continental breakfast, which was OK but lacked variety. I would definitely stay again, largely due to the terrific staff (Lenny, Bianka, Katya).

I really liked this place, a friend recommended it and it didn’t disappoint. it was very clean and the staff helpful and nice/always smiling. I chose a 6-bed room and made a lot of girl friends in one week staying there! It’s close to the city centre and it has a lovely view on the church (not all the rooms I reckon!) . It was warm inside and given my long stay they offered fresh towels/bed sheets which I refused since I was mostly out all day. I’m not sure I liked the fact a male would take care of the turndown service since because of that I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping or lying down in my pj or underwear, maybe being that a female dorm I would’ve sent a lady to knock first and THEN anybody else, but it wasn’t the end of the world! I’ll surely book here should I visit Reykjavik again!

A bit hard to find, the little hotel is tucked away on a dead-end street. Once we got into our room we were comfortable and could rest. It was raining outside and we were wet, but we dried off and took a nap in the good quality mattresses and bedding. The bathroom was roomy and clean. The price was good. Our room was on the second floor and being older, getting our luggage up the stairs presented a small inconvenience but over all our visit was a positive one. We recommend this hotel for travelers on a budget.

The hostel was clean and warm, the rooms were well laid out, with a safe for each person. It's such an odd looking building, but that's definitely part of the charm! The large kitchen/common area looks cool both from within and from the street looking up at it: the huge windows, and the warm coloured, up-lit walls make it so cosy! The hostel is spitting distance from Hallgrimskirkja, you can see it from the common room windows. This means you're in the heart of the city - great if you have no transport! It does mean you're in the heart of the tourist traps too... so any shop nearby (with the exception of Kronan stores) will be more expensive than those further afield. The staff leave you to do your own thing, the cleaners are all super friendly, the showers are always hot, and in decent condition. It really exceeded my expectations. I might have wished for an onsite bar or cafe for socializing, but everything is so expensive in Iceland that I was glad of the lack of temptation! And if you do need that sort of diversion, the B47 Hostel, which occupies the lower floors of the same building, has something like that. I'm sure it would have been okay to use it.

Great hotel for location. Only 5-10mins away from Hallgrimskirkja (Modern Cathedral) which is a great reference point. Only 10 mins walk into the central area of Reykjavik. 2 mins drive to one of the main highways (No. 49). I stayed in Room 7 located in the loft, which was very spacious, comfortable, clean and warm. I only required a single room and was given a room with 3 single beds, so worth noting for a small group. There was a sink in the room. The shared shower room was next door which again was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included in my deal which was a standard continental selection. Ideal for making up a cheeky little sarnie for when out and about. Most importantly, the two hosts were very polite, happy and welcoming. Overall, Ideal hotel for a short stay 😁.

Cosy and beautiful place. The room, the bathroom and the kitchen are very clean. The staff is super friendly. We were welcomed with water and snacks. The location is excellent, we are very close to the church, some stores, restaurants and a supermarket. And you can rent a bicycle.
