Warm and Homey, Clean and Comfortable: Though not a luxury hotel, this guesthouse clearly shows thoughtful touches everywhere. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, always happy to provide local information and assistance. The rooms are simply yet warmly decorated, incredibly clean and tidy, with soft, comfortable bedding ensuring a good night's sleep. While the bathroom facilities aren't particularly spacious, the hot water is plentiful, water pressure is stable, and everything is very well-maintained and clean, putting one at ease. Overall, it creates a 'home away from home' relaxing atmosphere, with attention to detail evident in prioritizing guest comfort.
Thoughtful Amenities, Great Value for Money: The guesthouse offers strong and stable free Wi-Fi, which is crucial for guests needing to stay connected or handle business. The most pleasant surprise is its excellent value for money. For such clean accommodation and attentive service, the room rate is incredibly reasonable, making it definitely the top choice for budget-conscious or convenience-prioritizing savvy travelers staying in Johor Bahru.
Clean hotel with clean room. Good hairdryer, dries hair quickly. Good tv and comfortable bed. Many eateries all around the hotel vicinity, there’s also a laundry shop near the hotel. Massage shops also just next door. Easy check in and check out. Eco hotel because the toiletries are in permanent bottles so zero waste on toiletries that way. Toothbrush and coffee available at the reception to take if needed. There’s lift at hotel for easy floors access. However the toilet is really very small and the arrangement of toilet bowl and sink is quite uncomfortable, too tight a space. Also the shower head angle is very bad and difficult to adjust. Bad toilet experience due to the layout of toilet and facilities. Other than that, it’s quite a nice stay
Recently transitioned to the Swing & Pillows brand, with ongoing renovation that's now largely complete.
The all-important Quality of Welcome, so rare in JB hotels, is outstanding. Kudos to Umar, Jason and the team. 👍🏼 😍.
Check in is fast and efficient. Keypad code for entry to the property if reception unattended may seem obvious, but it's a big help with both security and quality of life for hotel guests.
Rooms are truly spotless, towels and linens are new and fresh, the bathrooms functional and the showers 🚿 enjoyable. All these things are rareties that are not to be taken for granted with JB hotels in this price range.
By the way, even the Single Room No Windows is fairly spacious and the aircon and WiFi (do select the 5GHz band) are very effective.
An easy, and strong, recommendation from me.
I've been visiting JB for over 15 years, lived in JB for over a year before Covid-19 and have been super critical of JB hotels (price, quality, service, cleanliness and security / safety concerns) over the years.
Swing & Pillows @Johor Bahru is a successful transformation of an old property. Well done 👏🏼 💕.
So, the hotel stay? Let's just say it wasn't winning any ”Most Likely to Be Remembered Fondly” awards. The Wi-Fi signal was so weak, it made dial-up look like warp speed. The staff seemed to have attended the ”Charm School for Robots” – graduating with honors in monotone efficiency. As for entertainment, the cable was flatter than a week-old roti canai, and local TV might as well have been broadcasting from Mars, linguistically speaking. Thankfully, there was a 24-hour mamak for emergency mee goreng runs. A barbershop next door offered the hope of a pre-9 PM trim, assuming you could beat the early-bird special to receding hairlines. And a mamak convenience store stood guard, also clocking out at 9 PM sharp.
First time staying here (single room without window). Hotel is clean & comfortable, small room but just nice for one person solo stay, many foods, convenience stores, pharmacy nearby, very convenient. Got lift & parking in front of hotel , friendly receptionist. Just that room can hear outside sound clearly especially night time if got people talking you can hear, room no hair dryer. Other than this, all satisfied . Will stay again.
ImpInitially hesitant about this hotel based on reviews, but our 1st night changed our mind — we ended up staying another nigh on 4th! Not flashy, but for the budget, the room cleanliness was top-notch, especially the bedsheets & pillows — super clean & comfy 👍 Azul, the staff we met on night 2, was awesome & made us feel welcome 🙏 Appreciated his help with our requests! Rate was a big plus compared to nearby hotels. Definitely coming back 😊

First off, the location is quite remote for Johor as a whole, mainly because the Persiaran Laksamana area is newly developed. However, it's very close to Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal, which makes it ideal for travelers arriving by ferry.
Note that the detailed map location on Trip.com is incorrect. The correct address should be Almas Suites, Persiaran Laksamana, 79100 Iskandar Puteri, Johor Darul Ta'zim.
Due to this location, if you plan on frequently traveling to and from JB, you'll need to factor in potentially high transportation costs (more travel time and higher Grab fares).
If you opt for a high-floor room, you'll generally have a good experience with a nice view from the open balcony. However, the balconies are quite close to each other, so you might catch a glimpse of what your neighbors are up to! 😉
No rooms provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, and you'll need to bring your own shampoo and shower gel.
If you choose to eat in the room, you'll quickly discover it attracts tiny ants. It's best to dine at restaurants outside and then return to the room to relax.
During your stay, no room service is provided as it operates as a self-service apartment.
Show on the app said some room have window , so I requested for window room but get the room without windows , feelings stuffy when go in to the room ,
No free public parking on weekdays, as what the trip.com mentioned public parking is free ...
Actually that time i was really frustrated on my stay last time at first room my aircond have a problem the maintenance coming so many times to repair my room acond after that they ask me to change the room on the new room the water suddenly stop while my daughter was showering.. the electricity also like suddenly black out was sudden.. luckily the maintenance man really helpful and helped to repair all the problems in the room so fast even needed to coming to my room many times..

TThongThis time I visited here because the light and power point was out of order, so I had to charge my hp at the lobby, so back to the bed, only sleep early.
AAnonymous UserH3 hotel is a budget hotel in Yong Peng. The accommodation is comfortable, cleanliness acceptable.
⭕ car parking space provided.
❌ no electric kettle, no lift(quite a problem if the room is on the higher floor).
Nnice4mayExcellent staying, repeat & repeat & repeat booking for my colleague business trip. Their all satisfy for this hotel.

MMr GentlePros
- Walking distance to the immigration checkpoint & malls
- 24hr eatery and convenience store across the street
- Ample parking space
- Small locker provided & no padlock needed
- Oral care, bath towel & earplugs are provided
- Key card access security
- BYOB friendly
- thick comfortable mattress
Cons
- no 24/7 front desk
- semi-worker dormitory environment
- cheap pillow
- no clothes hanger
- privacy screens could see through when light is turned on in the bunk in a dark room
- no air ventilation in the bunk room
- very weak shower water pressure
- tiny shower room
Overall
I would not stay in this place long term because my main concern is air ventilation in the shared bunk bed room. Sharing stale air with multiple people in the room is a hotbed for spreading airborne sicknesses. I do not need an advanced HVAC system, just an open window with good air circulation will do the trick. The shared shower room was so small that i literally was trapped in a corner to let the door swing in to open and exit. Other issues were manageable. I think most of them went to bed early because they need to wake up early to work I guess. Expect early morning alarms to wake you up while asleep.

PPangSaiZuaThere are alot of eateries and restaurants nearby. Small and decent room. The toilet is big with awesome rain shower.
However, the 2nd floor surface area is not even. Walk with caution. The door locking also seems to be outdated using physical key. Otherwise a very decent stay and walking distance to Sutera mall (less than 10min)
FFaiRahmThe hotel is strategically located near JB Central, City Square, Bazar Karat, the CIQ, and major food spots—very convenient for transport and shopping. Rooms come with basic amenities and the price is reasonable for short, budget-friendly stays. Front desk service is good.

MMaddog220The location of this small budget hotel is great for couples or small groups of 3-4 pax and it’s just next to the big seafood restaurants (King and New Seafood Restaurants) which is next to the jetty.
The room is rather big and clean the toilet is adequate and everything works, so no worries. But as a budget traveller,, please don’t expect bells and whistles for the price u are paying per night. .this place is suitable if u only want a good and clean environment to stay for 1-2 days. There are many eateries around this hotel too and they even have their own restaurant downstairs. Everywhere is easily within walking distance from hotel.
The best thing about this place is the reception staffs. They are all very friendly and warm ppl and willing to help if u need any tourist information about Kukup.
The only complaint is the limited parking in front of the hotel. They have only 1 parking lot for hotel guest & 1 parking lot for the restaurant guests. So if u are driving, u have to be lucky if no one is parking at the hotel lot and u can park there for free. If not u have to park elsewhere at the many free public carparks or or paid guarded carpark lots at RM10 per day.
I would definitely stay here again if not coming as a big group.
GGuest UserBooked non-smoking room, but few rooms also with cigarette smell and cigarette butt in toilet basin and floor. (I requested to change room)
Sticky room floor.
Cracked toilet bowl, dew unsafe to use.
Also saw stray cat vomit on table at lobby waiting area.
So far, the location is good.
Friendly staff.
HHahuhaheClose to Senai airport but not within walking distance. Shower not screened from toilet, so once you shower, the toilet floor is wet. The surrounding environment is very degraded. See a lot of litter. The trash point is an eyesore. Potholes are filled in with construction debris. Not the hotel's fault. But i am not coming back.
