Mom of a 12-yr old... need a say more? 😄 Why yes, I will, because for any parent or guardian looking to create a ski experience that allows for convenient breaks, hot cocoa infusions, and making the whole donning/removing of ski equipment easier, staying at River Run Village is the best way to go. My daughter and I went up for a two-day ski trip and stayed at Silver Mill 8307. We each had our own bedroom, plus as the mom I took the one with the private bathroom. We brought our own groceries, which all fit into the full-size refrigerator, plus the kitchen has all of the appliances you need to make every meal if you so choose. But let me tell you about the ski amenities, because that's the best part. We were able to store all of our equipment - helmets, boots, skis, poles, goggles - in our allocated locker on the first floor. So we'd get on our ski clothes, take the elevator down to the lobby, head to the locker room right there, grab our gear, and put it all on (minus skis, of course) by the warmth of a fire. Then we basically walked out the closest door and in three minutes we're in line at the gondola. Returning to the condo for lunch and at the end of the day was just as easy. Why is this awesome for me and for you, too? Minimal grumbling from the tween! Skiing takes a decent amount of effort just to get to the lifts, and keeping my kid's motivation at acceptable levels for what becomes a pretty expensive outing is why staying at River Run Village is WORTH IT.
