Mas del Mar is one of those properties you won't forget, though not always for the right reasons. It's a large, characterful house set in a wonderfully isolated spot, yet still within walking distance of the beach. The sense of peace and the setting are genuinely special — breakfast comes with an absolutely awesome view, and the free parking right in front is a practical plus.
The experience feels unique because the place has soul. You can tell this house has stories. Unfortunately, it also feels like those stories haven't been updated in a while. The maintenance is seriously lacking, and it's clear the property either doesn't have the budget or the attention to detail needed to push it from ”memorable” to ”exceptional.”
Our room had no air conditioning, which in the Spanish heat is a real drawback. Then there are the small but telling things: the faucet tap literally comes off in your hand if you're not careful. It's one of many little details that accumulate and remind you that comfort has been sacrificed.
The bottom line: If you value atmosphere, privacy, and a one-of-a-kind setting over polished service and modern amenities, Mas del Mar delivers. But if you expect the basics to work properly and the property to be well-kept, you'll leave frustrated. With some real investment in upkeep, this could be a hidden gem. As it stands, it's a rough diamond — beautiful from afar, chipped up close.
Breakfast is OK, the room is a bit small, Italian farmhouse. The child is very happy, there are small animals and swimming pool. Parking next to the gate is suitable for self-driving. The dinner room is decorated very distinctively, the wine cellar and farm tools are the background, and the service is very professional. The dinner menu is set, but the actual settlement is not the set price, it is calculated according to each unit price (higher than the set price), and the water is also charged. Eating is a ceremony and atmosphere.
A lot of spectacular to go to spend a weekend with your partner, family or friends!
