I recently stayed at this hotel and while there were some positives, a few key issues made the experience less than ideal.
🌄 Scenic Beauty
No doubt, the view from the property is stunning — easily one of its strongest features. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, the surroundings offer a peaceful and picturesque escape.
🛏️ Room Quality
The rooms were decent: clean, comfortable, and functional. Not luxurious, but good enough for a short stay. A few upgrades in decor or amenities could elevate the experience.
🍽️ Food Concerns
Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. After breakfast, I experienced stomach pain that felt like food poisoning. It’s hard to say for certain, but the timing and symptoms suggest the meal may have been the cause. This was disappointing and concerning, especially given the importance of food safety in hospitality.
⚖️ Overall Impression
The hotel has potential — great views and acceptable rooms — but the food experience seriously affected my stay. I hope they take steps to improve kitchen hygiene and food quality going forward.
A really lovely house, clean and in a quiet location outside of the centre of town.
The absolute star of this listing is the host Shameera who is one of the best there could be. He’s incredibly responsive on WhatsApp and always on hand with great tips and ideas on where to go and what to do. His breakfast was also exemplary.
Thanks for a great stay
The River House Dambulla The Serendipity Collection is the perfect place to unwind after a day of travel or work.
This property also offers dry cleaning and laundry service (on-site).
Our stay at the Villa was absolutely perfect. The villa is luxury, with a big clean infinity pool looking out to the most stunning views. It is uo in the hills above Kandy - so it is so peaceful and quiet, it was so relaxing we didn’t leave the whole time. The staff are amazing - so friendly and kind, they go above and beyond. Brian is a superb manager - massive thanks to him!!! The food at the restaurant was so delicious. I will be recommending the Villa to all my family and friends, and we will definitely come back again ourselves.
Nestled in a picturesque location, the Tea Garden hotel offers a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While the amenities may be minimal, the breathtaking views and peaceful ambiance more than make up for it. And the staff are very friendly and available. Whether you're sipping tea on the terrace or taking a leisurely stroll through the lush gardens, every moment here feels like a rejuvenating escape. If you're seeking tranquility and natural beauty, the Tea Garden hotel is the perfect destination.

The location is very good, halfway up the mountain. The environment outside the window is very good. The room is relatively large, but the facilities are a bit simple. Slippers are not provided. Breakfast is ordered. The coffee needs to be improved. Others are OK.
The hotel is super satisfied, the facilities and services are very good, the surrounding environment is also super good, there is no signal on the mountain, you can only use the hotel wifi All in all, a hotel that is very recommended
Advantages The yellow house is very beautiful, the upper and lower floors are large, two large double beds, two bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, the bathroom area upstairs is large, the bathtub 🛁 looks out and has a wide view. It is not the season at present. The tea mountain outside is a bit bald. It should be beautiful in summer and the breakfast is rich. The disadvantage is that the house is on the hillside, and you have to climb a steep slope. Look at the last picture. The surrounding area of the house is incompatible with the beautiful yellow house. Hahaha
It's actually quite quiet on the mountain. It's quite cold at night. The altitude is 1900. Two young people are quite enthusiastic. We want to go down the mountain or come back here. Remember to download pickme and don't be overpriced. There are many things to buy at the community bus station at the foot of the mountain. Tea is also the cheapest here.

Very Good
SSHAOPENGThe location of this hotel is a bit hard to find, but it was really unexpected after entering the hotel. The hotel staff is very good, there will be drinks and drinks, the dinner is really good, and then the breakfast will be prepared in advance in the morning. The only downside is that the room is small, but the scenery outside is very good.

MMD JOBAYER HOSSAINMelheim Kandy Villas is a charming hillside retreat that blends comfort, nature, and warm hospitality beautifully. Nestled amidst lush greenery with sweeping views of the Kandy hills, it offers a peaceful escape from the bustle of the city while still being within a reasonable drive to key attractions.
The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with large windows or balconies that let you soak in the serene surroundings. The beds are comfortable, and the overall ambiance feels homely yet refined. While the property is generally well-maintained, a few minor maintenance touches could make it even better.
One of the highlights is the service — the staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and eager to make your stay memorable. The breakfast is hearty and flavorful, often featuring fresh local produce, and dining on the terrace with a view is a treat in itself

GGuest UserA lovely family as a owner, kindness and help spread. They can arrange lots of service, like tuktuk tour or taxi. It’s possible do an authentic kandyan cooking class. Peaceful place into nature, far from city caos, close 4minutes by tuktuk ride to center. Spacius and clean room. Strongely recommended.

GGamaba qianqiannuoThis is the favorite hotel in the 12-day Sri Lanka trip, very lucky to choose here, although the road to the hotel is a bit rugged, it may be this rug that makes it so quiet, so primitive. The hotel is an old colonial villa, but the maintenance is very good, the staff is very nice, I really want to stay a few more days.
