We booked our first holiday to South America through Steve Jones at Travel Counsellors, a service we have used several times for long trips, always with great results. We decided on the Sheraton Hotel as it offered parking and easy access to the beach but in a less crowded location. I started to read some of the reviews on TA and was wondering if we had made a terrible mistake. The truth is we didn’t! From our initial greeting the staff have been helpful, professional and acted in our best interests at all times. There was a small hiccup when we arrived in that we were booked into a smoking room (yes they still have them in Argentina). We rang down immediately to reception and within 5 minutes a porter was at the door to move us and our luggage to a very acceptable room. Everything was and continued to be spotlessly clean. The shower over the bath was powerful and the fact that you could take a bath was a positive that my wife made use of several times. We had a bed and breakfast package so used the buffet restaurant every day. The choice of food was fine and there were always cleaned tables to sit at regardless of timings and we did vary it over 7 days. The pools were large and although the water was cold, it was very refreshing on a hot day. For those who found it too cold the indoor pool was like a warm bath! English is not widely spoken either here or in Buenos Aires where we stayed previously but all the staff here had a very good grasp of our language and communication was never a problem. There are several excellent restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and we always felt safe. There has been a reassuring police presence in all the areas we visited and apart from the driving which in my experience is more dangerous than India and I’ve now done over 1000 miles in both countries, there is little to fear. So to sum up - visit Argentina, learn a little Spanish and enjoy a great experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I booked two rooms for five days at a cost of 1,200,000 pesos (approximately 1458 dollars), and I feel that the value paid is not reflected in the services and amenities offered. The rooms are notably small, and surprisingly, parking is not included despite it being a 3-star hotel. The value for money was not as expected. Furthermore, facilities like the swimming pool are inadequate for the number of guests; it is too small and lacks enough space to sit comfortably. Another area for improvement is the noise level in the rooms at night, particularly from the fridge, and the design of the bathroom, which is uncomfortable especially in the area of the bidet and shower. I hope this feedback will be useful in improving the experience for future guests. I appreciate the staff's attention, but I believe certain aspects need to be adjusted to justify the price of the stay

The hotel is old but very well restored. A little dark in general. Maintains the old granite floors in public areas and the parquet in the rooms, as well as the plate. The furniture could be better. The hotel is very comfortable and it is very comfortable to move from there to any point. The staff of the reception could be more friendly if you would like. Breakfast on the 7th floor is very good (it missed eggs revised). The room is small but more shower! The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

Es la segunda oportunidad en la que me alojo en este establecimiento hotelero de la ciudad de Mar del Plata. Para comenzar, destaco la ubicación en pleno centro y cercana a los principales sitios de interés turístico de la ciudad. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y las camas confortables. En lo que se refiere a las sábanas y toallas, durante mi estadía siempre fueron de buena calidad y excelente limpieza. La habitación cuenta con led, jarra térmica, frigobar vacío con buena temperatura y caja de seguridad. La vista desde mi habitación daba a un patio interno, pero sinceramente como estaba todo el día afuera ni me importó. El desayuno estaba bastante completo, lo único tal vez a mejorar, era la temperatura de los huevos revueltos y las salchichas que estaban fríos. Todo los demás que sirven me pareció muy rico y la atención de las chicas del comedor es muy correcta. El personal de recepción es muy amable y servicial, y en mi caso, TENGO QUE DESTACAR que siempre estuvieron muy predispuestos para bridarme soluciones a pedidos especiales que realicé. Excelente relación precio = calidad, ALTAMENTE RECOMENDABLE.
