Ariana´S Galapagos Hostal
4.1/515 Reviews
Hotel is quite far from the waterfront, but its not a big issue as the walk is nice 15-20 min or you take a cab which is all time available for 1,5$. Its called Hostal but rooms are like in a Hotel. They are nice and clean. At the roof top you have nice view, tables and a bar which was not on duty when i was there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to change my flight and the receptionist was very helpful and even wanted to go with me to the agency in town which was unfortuntely not existed anymore. For it class i can strongly recommend to stay there
Ocean Dreams Galapagos
4.4/518 Reviews
Cheerful and helpful owner (Amanda) & family. Not a lot of English spoken (bar Sergey, when he was around, and another girl at reception who we only met once) so without some Spanish there can be misunderstandings. Staff also very friendly and helpful. lnternet was poor (general problem in Galapagos I think) and caused problem paying bill as it failed in mid transaction with CC and we ended up duplicating the payment. To be fair Amanda went straight to bank to cancel as soon as we discovered it - money was back in our a/c in a week or so. Most rooms are good with spotless tiled floors - we ended up sampling 3 different rooms in our 4 night stay (1 night and then 3 more following a gap of a few days). One on 1st floor at the back of building was a big room with mini kitchen incl sink, fridge and microwave but was overlooked by closely adjacent property so we just kept curtains closed most of time which made it a bit gloomy. Equiv room on 3rd floor which we had for a couple of nights was a good room. Twin room on top floor (4th) which we had for 1 night was small but gave you easy access to the rough roof terrace which had a few chairs which we used to have a beer and some snacks watching the sun go down. All rooms we stayed in were noisy though - probably applies to much of Puerto Ayora accommodation - continuous cars in C Seymour, dogs, cockerels from 4 or even earlier, water pumps, etc. etc. not the best if you are a light sleeper. Normally we left the windows open - closing them helped a little but not much. Breakfast was reasonable - not laid out in a buffet but brought on request. Fresh fruit juice, eggs as you prefer, bread/toast, coffee/tea, fruit if you asked for it. Overall were happy enough with the place, esp Amanda & staff and would stay again but not in the room on 1st floor and I'd bring good earplugs.
Hotel Ninfa
4.1/544 Reviews
I had stayed at the Hotel Ninfa before. It is centrally located, close to the ATM's, the town centre and the local dive shops including Academy Bay which we used. In planning the trip for the club, I decided to use this hotel again as our base for the reasons set out above. The hotel is very welcoming and friendly. Since my last trip, the hotel has undertaken a significant refurbishment to the breakfast area. On a par with other hotels I have stayed in.There was a wide selection for breakfast and you can also have it cooked fresh to order. The garden, bar area and the pool side are well maintained and a great place to relax after a dive, early evening and prior to popping out to any of the restaurants close by, either along Charles Darwin Avenue or there is a great street close by which has the tables on the road - the fish there is superb. I have noted some of the comments posted by others which I think are somewhat unfair when the experience is taken in the round. Yes, some of the rooms might need an upgrade but they were comfortable enough for our purpose. I am sure that the hotel management has this in hand, if the breakfast area is anything to go by. The only observation that I would make is in relation to the wifi within the hotel which can be challenging at times if you need to use it. Something for the hotel team to think about. But then, who needs a phone if you are diving each day/taking day trips or excursions - chance to leave it on silence perhaps. Thanks again Hotel Ninfa for your kind hospitality
Hostal White House Galapagos
4.2/512 Reviews
We spent 7 nights in the White House and were very happy. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the port, we felt very safe at all times on our way home. The rooms are practically furnished, clean, warm shower, comfortable beds, rooms separated from the street by a cozy and beautiful indoor courtyard with hanging mattresses. Very friendly and helpful owner family, rent bikes and had a great excursion offer. There is also a common kitchen with refrigerator and water donor, which was very practical. However, the maintenance of the kitchen (in particular with regard to cleanness and old food) could be optimized. In addition, everything was top and we can recommend the accommodation very much.
Hostal North Seymour
4.1/543 Reviews
Although the room is not big, it is very clean, the roof terrace is particularly good, the service is very thoughtful, the plug of the mobile phone charger is wrong, the waiter borrowed it for one night, thank you!
Torre Mar Galapagos Boutique Suites
4.5/548 Reviews
Five star experience Torre Mar is truly a 5 star experience if you are looking to travel to Galapagos. From the moment I sent a note to inquire about costs, the owners were extremely responsive and helpful. One of the great things they do is set up some zoom calls to get to know you, your interests and your “must dos” while based on Santa Cruz Island. We stayed in a two bedroom suite, which was perfect and absolutely lovely. It was nice to be able to relax in the living room in the evenings or on the fourth floor terrace. The room was spotless, furniture comfortable, and price unbeatable. You can walk quickly to a wide variety of restaurants throughout Santa Cruz. Donna and John helped us arrange our excursions six months in advance, and created an itinerary to be envied. We were able to see plazas, North Seymour, Bartolome and the highlands. On a free day, when we struggled to make our way back from Tortuga Bay, John was right there to help. He made sure we felt at home in Puerto Ayora. Also - they help arrange your transfer from Baltra island when you land and when you depart. Bolivar was amazing! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing Torre Mar is and how they go above and beyond for their guests.
