I booked for 2 nights 15th- 17th September for leisure purposes. It was my 40th birthday and my husband had bought tickets to see Kevin Bridges at the Hydro next door. As a special occasion, we booked a Suite & decided to stay longer to make a nicer and relaxing stay. I booked via Booking.com earlier in the year. Extremely easy to get to the Hotel, easy to park & clear signage. Like the walkway into the hotel itself which kept us off the road and the parking tablets on Reception made the process very easy. (Not always a given in a City Centre Hotel - so appreciated) Check In- extremely efficient and staff were brilliant. Was disappointed to be notified that the swimming pool was closed & would be shut the following day from 1430. It was part of the reason I’d chosen the hotel over others in the area. Unfortunately got to the room and it wasn’t a suite. Went back down to Reception & issue was quickly resolved (thank goodness- over £200 per night for a standard double was not what I was quoted when first looking at room options) I received a drinks voucher for 2 due to inconvenience which I thought was a kind gesture. Suite- (1106) Liked the space & loved the views over the River Clyde & beyond. Carpets were stained in multiple areas, cupboards broken on all units, remote control for the TV in living space didn’t work, room service menu was filthy with food marks, and carpets were dirty under the furniture where I presume it was trickier to get a hoover although still very visible. There were bits of debris & dust under the unit in the living space. Even more off putting was opening a bottle of sparkling water provided and finding it had already been opened and someone had clearly taken a swig already. Bar- Decided to go and use our drinks vouchers in the Bar before getting ready for the show. Waited with staff not acknowledging us & talking whilst unloading the dishwasher. When eventually served, was advised I couldn’t have a cocktail due to the show next door. I have no idea of the rationale of this policy but didn’t want to question further. I recognise it’s not the bar staff that write the policies & didn’t want to cause any bad feeling. I asked for a large white wine instead & was then informed that I couldn’t have a large size with the drinks voucher & a medium was then promptly served. I would understand if I’d asked for a Dalmore 62 or a pint of Vodka, but I thought 75 ml extra of wine was tight & poor customer experience especially in the circumstances considering the voucher being received in the first place. I was then asked by the Bar Staff member “Let me guess, you got the voucher due to a problem with the room?” I agreed. “ Doesn’t surprise, this isn’t a good hotel” was the response. When sitting in the bar, I noticed other guests were clearly being served cocktails. I felt extremely put out by this & added to my overall bad impressions of the hotel. Next morning- breakfast in the club lounge- Helped myself to cereal, yo

Having stayed here a few times before due to its location and reasonable price, I was left disappointed this time. I had booked this hotel because for some reason every hotel in Glasgow that weekend was unusually expensive. Hotels I would have expected to pay >£100 were £150/180. The jury’s was £111. A warm welcome from reception staff and the main lobby is modern and clean. The room we were allocated (618) was a bit dated. It was spacious because it was an accessible room, not at our request so maybe why it was cheaper than others. The above two points didn’t really bother us because it was just somewhere to sleep as we were attending a gig. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. The windows didn’t do enough to soundproof the outside street noise, the walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbours talking, plugging and unplugging electrical items- all minor quiet stuff which you shouldn’t really be able to here. Our room had a buzzing noise coming from the vent in the room which kept us awake til 7.30am… and then the neighbours started getting ready to check out. We never complained during the night because we were so tired after being out all night and the noise was intermittent so just when you thought you were back to sleep, it started again. The room was clean but as I said dated, and for this reason I don’t think I’d chose to stay here again.

Fantastic service by concierge, felt very welcomed especially since we are asian and other hotels make me feel otherwise. 1 lift was down and there were only 2 so it takes a while, but wasn’t an issue for us since we stayed only on the 3rd floor. Surrounding of the hotel was having construction but was convenient to get to central station!

We stayed one night. Hotel is lovely and very well maintained. Reception staff friendly. Our room was good with amazingly comfy bed. The bathroom however let it down as grout was a bit mouldy and bath matt dirty. Also room didn't appear to have a hairdryer. The Champagne Central bar was great but our cocktails were such a rip off: £10.50 each and had ice to the brim of tall glasses so hardly anything in the glass to drink - shocking and disappointing. Breakfast very good but wouldn't expect to get my own tea or coffee from a machine or make my own toast at a 4 star hotel.

I get what this hotel is trying to do, but it doesn't do it that well! I had good communication prior to my stay, a few texts reminding me. I liked the self check in screen, saves time. The room itself was supposed to be a 'queen' but it was extremely cramped, the bed was a small double at best and there was a weird single bunk bed over the double, which made the room feel so small and oppressive. Floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom were inconvenient. There was a door joining my room to the next which was less than ideal. The whole hotel was very noisy, you could hear doors opening and closing all over the place. There was a lot of noise coming from the room next door which was made worse by the door, as this let more noise in. The party eventually stopped about 3am. This wasn't just me, my colleague had to ask someone to come up and stop a party in the hallway at 1am and he was 2 floors up. No kettle, no water, pretty basic room. This would do for one night maximum IF there was nowhere else.

First the negatives. There weren't any. Now the positives. Hotel receptionists were good throughout our stay, from the warm and cheerful welcome to the cheerful and helpful checkout. The room was bright and clean, breakfast had plenty of choices, including some lovely black pudding. Staff were cheerful and welcoming both mornings during our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first evening, the Hazel, lovely food which was not only presented well but very tasty. If being very picky, the amount of the mash potato bursting with flavour that came with the chicken dish was barely there. Talking to the waitress, who was very good, this is a new menu and said she would let the chef know and was grateful for the feedback. The outstanding thing for us was the quality of the bar staff, friendly and quick to take your order, which in our experience is almost unique as the bar staff often let hotels down. Overall an excellent hotel in the heart of Glasgow and would recommend this as a great base for a stay.

I've stayed here a couple of times. On the edge of Glasgow centre but an easy 10 minute walk. Really nice touches of design in the communal areas and in the bedrooms. I got upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the same restaurant. Only negative was that the dinner service was sometimes a little slow.

We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in a beautiful setting attended to by the friendly and informative Argyro who could not have done enough for us. Our room was lovely with an amazing view of the city. The time at the pool was fun and the two gentlemen working there (sorry did not get their names to give them a mention) were very welcoming and helpful. Our room service food (again delicious!!) was brought to us by Alex (and again friendly and welcoming) The breakfast the next day was perfect. There is a vast selection of breakfast options and something to suit everyone’s dietary requirements. We were welcomed to the lounge by Kiamha who was super friendly and accommodating. We cannot fault this stay. The staff do an excellent job and make everyone feel at home and we are already planning our next stay there. Bravo, Hilton Glasgow, and please keep up the good work 👍

The sleeping rooms in the hotel are going to be renovated starting in January 2023, so everything I have to say may be moot in 6 months or so. Anyway, I attended a conference at the hotel, so this is the only reason I stayed here. The rooms are tired and are definitely in need of renovation. The tubs are crazy deep, so if you are uncomfortable with getting in and out of a tub, be sure to request one of the few rooms with a walk-in shower or a shallower tub. If you’re taller than 5’8”, you’re too tall for the shower and will have to crouch over. The shower gets very, very hot and you have to be careful with the water temperature. We ordered room service several times and were happy with it. Eating the restaurant and bar was another story. The one time we ate in the restaurant was a disaster. We have to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and, when it did, it was cold. Sent it back, and the only thing that was warm when it came back 15 minutes later was the meat. There were very few people in the restaurant, so we couldn’t understand why it took so long. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, namely William who was able to move us to a room that had one of the shallower tubs.

GGuest UserThank you to the staff, as a solo traveller I was quite nervous but I felt so safe. Check in was smooth and friendly. The hotel is clean, stylish and smart. You need your room key to use the lifts so I felt so safe going to my room. I stayed in a double room and it was so spacious! Everything was tidy and well placed. Even though there was a fun fair on the next street it didn’t really bother me when I shut the window. It was my first time staying in an apart-hotel and I would definitely recommend! I didn’t know that having ice in the freezer and cutlery would make me so happy haha. I could chill my water and have a lovely meal in my room without having to fork out for a more expensive takeaway. I used the Tesco express down the street to get myself fresh food. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel Rail too so I had the warmest, fluffiest towel! Down in the lobby they have a Brita water filter, board games, extra kitchen equipment and food and drink. Will certainly return if I ever visit Glasgow again!

GGuest UserNice, modern hotel in a great location. The bed was super comfy and a good size. Has a little kitchenette so basically has everything you would need. The bathroom was large and shower was good. We read online the hotel has a deal with a nearby car park but were told at reception they don’t help with the tickets so that was a bit annoying. We were also given milk in the fridge for tea etc which we thought was a nice touch but it was actually off and had curdled :( would be good to have Netflix etc on the TV as well

GGeorge TI purchase the accommodation via Trip.com. Trip.com did not use my email address or telephone number with my booking with the supplier. The access code to the front door of Destiny Scotland Apartments at Nelson Mandela Place is the last 4 numbers of the provided telephone number as a result my wife and I were locked out on a bitterly cold and wet Glasgow evening. After using the intercom, for assistance, the CSO refused to entry because my security details, email and telephone number, did not match. Luckily my friend was also staying at the same apartment and we used her access code to enter the lobby and get out of the freezing weather. The next morning, I rang Destiny Scotland Apartments to discuss last nights debacle, but Nima, the customer service manager was unsympathetic, dismissive, arrogant and rude. It was obvious by the conversation that this was not the first time that this had happened as she asked if I had used a third party travel agent and that I should have booked directly with them. I raised that, given the multiple incidences, that Destiny Scotland should email their resellers to confirm the correct procedures, Nima huffed back, that they have thousands of resellers and that it was my responsibility. I also mentioned that it was a multi storey building and that there were no lifts and that this should be mentioned in there listing as my friend is a 86 year old grandmother who had to unpack her overnight bag and carry the contents up in multiple smaller loads. Nima snapped back saying that is was an old building and lifts were not an expectation. This is 2023 and I have been to many old buildings with multiple lifts. The lack of empathy and wiliness to assist and blaming the customer is not on. While paying my way through university at a 5 star international hotel, my supervisor told me that the job description was in the name Hospitality and to be above all else HOSPITABLE. There are better options elsewhere.

AArchie LoI had an EXTREMELY WONDERFUL stay at the Spires Serviced Apartment in Glasgow, the flat itself I am calling a penthouse, with open view windows from its open kitchen to lounge area to overlook the city of Glasgow, and the bed is super comfortable. All well quipped flat with all the things you need, including laundry/drying machine and dish washer (both detergents provided), even the cheese board is prepared!!!!!!! Staff is super friendly and professional, I had a little check-in contingency as the key wasn’t working and it was 6ish pm, the staff was on holiday but still came all the way within half an hour to help me change the key! Super impressive! She greets everyone at reception all the time with a big smile!!!!! Excellent stay experience I have ever had in Glasgow!!!!!!! Love it so much!!!!!
