I was very satisfied with the environment, hygiene, bedding, service, and location. Now, for the two points I wasn't happy with: 1. The breakfast was bad, and we had to queue. This is the only 5-star hotel in the last five to ten years where we've actually found the breakfast 'bad'. How bad? Even the fried items weren't good... The satay noodles and mini wontons also didn't taste good. I'm not sure if the quality dropped because the hotel was full during the Spring Festival, or if it's always like this. Combined with the queueing for breakfast and the price of 200+ per person, it felt like a complete debuff. I'd recommend skipping breakfast here and eating out instead. 2. The emergency exits were not open. It was very crowded during the Spring Festival. We were on the 7th floor and waited over ten minutes for an elevator to the 2nd floor. I asked a staff member if there was an emergency staircase we could use to walk down, and was told that emergency exits can only be accessed by staff with a key card. This implied guests couldn't use them. That makes me wonder how people are supposed to evacuate in case of a fire, and how this setup passed fire inspections. 3. This third point isn't exactly a complaint, but I found it a bit odd. Around 8 or 9 PM, we returned to the hotel to rest, and a staff member brought us some snacks and then asked if we had any complaints about the service. It felt like they were hinting at whether we needed 'extra services.' I suggest they rethink this approach.

This Chinese New Year, we decided to visit Fuzhou. After booking our flights, I started looking for hotels. After comparing many options, I finally settled on Mindu ME Hotel. Initially, I chose it because it was a new hotel, but once I arrived, I realized I made the perfect choice. 1) As soon as our ride-sharing car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a friendly staff member immediately opened the car door to greet us, while another helped us with our luggage inside. 2) We arrived quite early, so after check-in, our room wasn't ready yet. The staff member at the front desk warmly suggested we go explore the sights first and helped us store our luggage. 3) The hotel lobby is very grand and impressive, and since it was Chinese New Year, it was decorated quite festively. 4) As a newly opened hotel, all the facilities in the room were brand new, which was a very pleasant feeling. The TV allowed for screen mirroring from our phones, the bathroom had no strange odors, and our room even had two sinks. The shower had excellent water pressure and hot water, and the toilet was a heated, electric model. After a tiring day of sightseeing, we could even relax in the bathtub (a friendly reminder: if seniors or children are using the tub, it's best to have someone supervising). 5) Getting to the hotel is super convenient: take Metro Line 2 to Shuibu Station, use the D Southeast exit escalator (not the accessible elevator) to reach street level, turn left, make a U-turn, walk straight through two automatic sliding doors, and you're directly in the hotel lobby. It's all internal access, so even if it rains, you won't get wet. The bus stop is also very close. The hotel isn't far from popular attractions like Sanfang Qixiang, Shangxia Hang, and the Provincial Museum, all easily accessible by bus, subway, or shared bikes. 6) I didn't make it to breakfast because I slept in, but I'm sure it would have been excellent. If you order takeout, a lovely staff member delivers it to your room, so you don't have to go down to pick it up yourself (the round table in the room is very sturdy, and I brought my own tablecloth to keep it clean). 7) After checking out, a wonderful staff member, Miss Qiu, chatted with us warmly and invited us to stay again. With such a great hotel and amazing staff, I will definitely stay here again whenever I come to Fuzhou. Wishing all the staff at Mindu ME Hotel a happy New Year and good health! Thank you for your service, see you next time!

This hotel is perfectly situated on Zhongshan Road, the most bustling street in Siming District, making it super convenient for food, drinks, and entertainment. Whether you arrive in Xiamen by plane or train, you can easily take the BRT and get off at Sibei – it's right there. Taxis can also drop you off directly downstairs, so transportation is a breeze. It's also really close to popular attractions like the Botanical Garden, Nanputuo Temple, and Xiamen University. Plus, a short walk will take you to Ba Shi Market, where you can grab a meal or buy souvenirs in no time. The facilities are excellent, with smart toilets and curtains. The hotel ambiance is quiet and peaceful, and the front desk staff are very efficient; check-in was super quick. My stay this time was fantastic! They even offer complimentary afternoon tea and coffee – just ask the front desk, and they'll prepare it for you. Overall, everything was great, so much so that I extended my stay by another day. The cleaning auntie was very friendly, and the room was spotlessly clean. Choosing this hotel was definitely the right decision.

As soon as we got off the car, the waiter helped us take our luggage and sent it to the room. The room was quite large, in good sanitary condition, with all kinds of facilities. The service attitude of the front desk staff was also very good. The breakfast was rich in variety, and there was an electric car to deliver it to the hotel gate. The hotel environment is very good, the geographical location is excellent, and it is very close to the ancient city of Zhangzhou. Stepping into the room, my eyes were immediately drawn to the tranquil scene in the courtyard. The trees were sparsely but artfully arranged, their branches silhouetted against the pale gray sky, creating a serene outline. On one side, the white wall and wooden frame acted like a natural picture frame, capturing this quietly flowing tranquility as if in a painting. Every photo I took looked like a masterpiece! Inside the room, I particularly adored the elegant tea set. The pale green teapot felt smooth and warm like jade. The complimentary jasmine tea slowly unfurled in the water, its fragrance lingering in the air. Pouring a cup, the room was filled with warm aroma and leisure, while outside, shadows danced and a gentle breeze blew. All the worldly distractions seemed to be gently cut off at that moment. A special thank you to the front desk lady who checked us in yesterday afternoon. She proactively helped my elderly parents with their luggage and escorted us to our room – it was incredibly thoughtful! I'm very satisfied and look forward to visiting again! This place is more than just an accommodation; it's an immersive haven that brings peace of mind. I'm so grateful for the meticulous attention to detail in creating such an atmosphere, making my brief stay feel like a long, refreshing breath in my memories. And a big thank you again to the front desk ladies working yesterday and this morning, who proactively helped my elderly parents with their luggage. It was incredibly warm and kind! Very satisfied, and I hope to see you again.

Choosing the Lujiang Hotel for our Chinese New Year trip to Xiamen was absolutely perfect! This iconic old Xiamen landmark truly lives up to its reputation; I couldn't find fault with the location, views, or service. Being a renovated property, the decor cleverly retains its original charm, even preserving the floral tiles left by overseas Chinese – the aesthetic is simply stunning. Stepping out, you're right on Zhongshan Road, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Our room faced Gulangyu Island, offering expansive sea views that both the elderly and children loved, especially the beautiful night scenery. The room itself was clean and spacious, with thoughtful amenities, making our family stay very comfortable. The staff were also warm and attentive, from helping with luggage and check-in to promptly responding to our daily needs. They were especially caring towards the elderly and children, which was truly heartwarming and practical. I particularly want to praise the breakfast; the variety was rich, with offerings like shark's fin, bird's nest, and sea urchin all freely available, alongside authentic Minnan flavors. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. With its history, scenic beauty, and human touch, it's very suitable for family travel. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Xiamen. Highly recommended!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

EErererererererererererereryeOur little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent! The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!

GGuest UserThe room is great! It's very clean and safe. The hotel service is excellent; since cars can't enter the ancient city, there's a shuttle bus that picks you up right where the taxi drops you off, which is super convenient as you don't have to drag your luggage. There's also a shuttle when you check out to take you out of the ancient city. The hotel has an elevator and a beautiful small balcony. It's incredibly close to all the food and attractions of the ancient city – just step out, and a popular spot is a short walk away. Zhongshan Park is right outside, making it very relaxing. They even gave us Mochi, no need to queue, and there are also special tie-dye activities and puppet shows.
