"I must first give the guesthouse a positive review. We left our laptop adapter and charging cable in the room when we checked out, but we were already on the train to Luxor. We contacted the owner, who immediately arranged for a driver with an intercity bus to Luxor to take us to the hotel the next day. Back to the guesthouse, I thought taking the boat on the island would be inconvenient, but it wasn't a big problem. The guesthouse is on the west side of Koh Chang, and there are free boats to the west side for check-in and check-out. It's a little walk, but thankfully, the owner arranged a triple room on the top floor (for two adults and two children), with a fantastic view and a small balcony. The owner speaks excellent English, so communication was no problem. You can also book a private car to the Aswan Dam and Abu Simbel temples through the owner; the price is relatively reasonable. Normally, you walk east to the public pier, and the boat ride costs 15 Egyptian pounds per person, taking about 10 minutes. However, the guesthouse doesn't provide toiletries; you need to bring your own."

Guest UserThe room decor feels a bit dated, but it was incredibly clean, which made for a great stay! The shuttle boat runs frequently, and there's parking at the dock, making arrivals and departures very convenient. Breakfast and dinner options were fairly standard, but sufficient. Our room, 506, had a balcony facing the east bank of the Nile, which was not sunny and offered a fantastic view. Overall, highly recommended! 👍👍

Our room jacuzzi was way too hot to enter. On the first day they send someone over who added cold water so we could enjoy it. Then on the second day as we are coming back from our day trip and want to relax, we find out our jacuzzi is again way too hot. It’s not fun to wait for them to fix this issue when we want to go in right now and not in an hour or so.
Also as a 5 stars hotel, the hot water kept running out in our shower after 15 minutes which is quite crazy. It shouldn’t be like this.
Or else we loved everything. The food is really good, and as I said the staff/service is amazing.

Pool side was great with a view of the Nile, plenty of chairs and fresh towels, although bar staff sometimes a little slow on drink and food refills this could be forgiven
Buffet breakfast had a good selection including eggs made to order, staff very attentive
Dinner selection was OK but again great service

Guest UserOut of the five hotels I stayed at in Egypt, this one wasn't cheap, but the experience was just okay. The photos made it look great, but the hotel itself isn't that big. It's located on a hill next to the Old Cataract, so walking back means a steep climb. I even had an unreliable driver try to charge extra just because of the hill – unbelievable! 😓 The front desk staff's attitude was so-so, and they gave me a ground-floor room. I seriously suspect the housekeeping staff tampered with my foundation bottle. The cap was open, and a few drops had spilled out. The more I thought about it later, the more I realized it definitely wasn't my doing. If you're staying here, I'd recommend keeping your personal items locked in your luggage! The buffet restaurant's food was mediocre, but the coffee was decent.

HouyuxieWe stayed in the old building. The view from the window was beautiful, though photos probably look better from the new building. However, if you want to experience the hotel's traditional charm, the old building is definitely better. The hotel restaurant combines North African elegance with Baroque grandeur. The staff were well-mannered, polite, enthusiastic, decent, and attentive. Since we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel due to our trip to Abu Simbel, we asked the front desk to prepare a breakfast pack, which was very substantial. At sunset, a flutist plays in the lobby, adding a delightful ambiance.

The hotel is right by the Nile River. There is a large area full of his homes. It is a bit like a more distinctive homestay. It is in Nubian style, and there are many distinctive decorations in the room.
The hotel is located in the suburbs, and the surrounding area is deserted and remote, so it is also very quiet. The hotel we booked to pick us up from Cairo to Aswan was charged $55. It took about 40 minutes to drive. I felt cheated. In fact, you can call a taxi directly from the airport. It is not as chaotic as it is said on the Internet.
The breakfast in the hotel is not bad. The fried egg is very delicious. There is a waiter who is Nubian. He is very nice to me. He will take the initiative to help me carry things and remind me to pay attention to the steps. It is the most sincere and friendly service I feel in my trip to Egypt. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name. When I left, I wanted to find him to tip but couldn't find him.

The rooms weren't as good as Atour or Ji Hotel, and at 1300 RMB a night, it was definitely a bit pricey! I stayed for two days. The hotel is a short walk from the Nubian Museum, and a short walk further down is the Old Falls, making the location very convenient. There's a Carrefour supermarket opposite the Old Falls, and a pretty good Chinese restaurant across from Carrefour.
Waking up in the morning and opening the curtains to see the Nile River was quite breathtaking.
The breakfast was so-so, but there's not much good food in Egypt, so I guess breakfast is included if it's included. 😂

Aswan said that this place is worn, except for the old waterfall, no one can live in a hotel. Instead of spending more than a thousand unpleasant, it is better to come to this homestay. There is hot water, breakfast with egg cucumber cakes, air conditioning, and hygiene in the local area.
After all, at this price, what kind of bicycles do you want, the owner of the hotel is good, English is all ok in the local area, the old man is a teacher, there are three sons, one is working in Saudi Arabia, one is a soldier, and there is a local travel agency to work, opening this hotel is also subsidized for home use, very friendly to the Chinese, Real people, more than 20 years ago, moved from Abu Simbe to Aswan for a better life, and chatted with them, you can learn that the locals in Egypt are really not as bad as they say on the Internet
But the disadvantage is that it is not easy to find. If it is not for the local driver, it is difficult to find. The location is relatively biased. Although Egyptian security is OK, women are not recommended to go alone at night.

The hotel is quite old, both physically and morally outdated. The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff were friendly. The air conditioning was a bit noisy. We were given a huge two-room suite by the Nile, but for this price, we're used to staying in newer hotels.
