Overall, the experience was just okay. We could take the complimentary boat shuttle between the dock and the hotel every day, which was a nice little Nile River cruise. The room facilities were a bit old but clean enough. The pool staff were quite enthusiastic. The only downside was breakfast. Perhaps because it was close to Ramadan, the dining area was overflowing with people. The food selection wasn't extensive, and the quality was just average. You even had to queue for a long time just to get coffee from the machine.
I must first give the guesthouse a positive review. We left our laptop adapter and charging cable in the room when we checked out, but we were already on the train to Luxor. We contacted the owner, who immediately arranged for a driver with an intercity bus to Luxor to take us to the hotel the next day. Back to the guesthouse, I thought taking the boat on the island would be inconvenient, but it wasn't a big problem. The guesthouse is on the west side of Koh Chang, and there are free boats to the west side for check-in and check-out. It's a little walk, but thankfully, the owner arranged a triple room on the top floor (for two adults and two children), with a fantastic view and a small balcony. The owner speaks excellent English, so communication was no problem. You can also book a private car to the Aswan Dam and Abu Simbel temples through the owner; the price is relatively reasonable. Normally, you walk east to the public pier, and the boat ride costs 15 Egyptian pounds per person, taking about 10 minutes. However, the guesthouse doesn't provide toiletries; you need to bring your own.
The hotel couldn't have been better. It's situated right on the Nile River in Egypt, and I highly recommend trying the Egyptian cuisine at the hotel restaurant. For around 50,000 KRW, a couple can enjoy a very satisfying meal. The accommodation itself has a cozy, almost guesthouse-like atmosphere.
Excellent room, and very friendly and sincerely caring staff. The Nile view from the balcony is amazing. Monica the Guest relation manager went above and beyond to ensure our stay is at its best. Ibrahim from the breakfast restaurant always prepare our breakfast to go as our excursions were very early. Thank you Tolip staff for making our stay memories unforgettable. THANK YOU.
It's on par with a 3-star budget hotel in China. The duvet was already pilling – replacing a duvet cover wouldn't be a huge expense, would it? A good night's sleep is a really important part of any trip. The breakfast buffet had limited variety, only the fried eggs were decent.
The most important thing in this hotel is not food, though it is perfect, and not even a stunning view from the windows - sincere location and readiness of Ahmed Shauki - the manager and host of the hotel, to help its guests in everything - that 's what makes Villa Misk the best!
Arriving at 9 am, I only planned to leave my luggage at the hotel, but the front desk helped me check in early 🙏; since I couldn't find anything to eat on my early flight, they arranged breakfast for me, $15 per person, which is a normal price. The scenery was truly comparable to the old falls. In Aswan, it felt like the inside and outside of the hotel were two different worlds; the hotel was safe and civilized, while the outside was chaotic and disorderly.
On our first night, the room was not clean. After our first complaint, housekeeping did a simple cleanup but it was still unsatisfactory. With our second complaint, a deeper cleaning was arranged, and the room was finally clean — though it was already past midnight (around 1am). The hotel staff apologized and kindly compensated us with a dinner discount, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with the team’s fast response and service recovery.
One small feedback: the facilities’ opening hours (spa and gym) clash with typical sightseeing schedules. Since they open late and close early, we were unable to enjoy them. It would be great if the hotel could consider extending the operating hours.
Credit to the room towel decoration. Surprises everyday we came back from sightseeing. Talented creativity of towel art.
Very friendly and responsible front desk! Because the driver temporarily increased the price, the front desk has always cared about our safety, and even negotiated with the driver for a long time. Finally, we sent a car to pick us up to the hotel. The scenery is beautiful. There is a market nearby. It is a collection of eating, drinking and playing. There is no problem in staying for two or three days. Wash the soul. The front desk can also help to book boats, sailing boats and cars, the price is very affordable! The only thing to note is that there is a group of dogs next to the hotel. People who are afraid of dogs recommend staying in a river view room, because they will stay in the main hotel, there is a very cute kitten! If you live in a common room, you must often pass by the road in the dog stronghold, which is a very test of courage.
The stretch of the Nile in Aswan is arguably the most beautiful, and the hotel's legendary status goes without saying, having inspired both the novel and film ”Death on the Nile.” The hotel has a very bright and airy feel overall, perhaps due to the intense sunshine outside; Aswan in September gets sun every day. The hotel itself is a special attraction.
Security: Strict security at the entrance. The hotel truly feels like a world unto itself.
Food: Breakfast has a good selection of cold dishes, and the service is excellent. The 1902 restaurant's style is a must-see.
Room: Large balcony with views of the Nile and desert. The design features a distinct North African style.
Service: I accidentally scalded myself with hot water in the evening, and the hotel promptly and professionally sent medicine twice, followed up on my condition, and offered further advice. It turned out that the medication and dressings provided by the hotel were the most suitable and highest quality for the rest of my trip. I sincerely thank all the staff who provided service. I believe one of the hallmarks of a truly 'good' hotel is its ability to handle customer emergencies like this. Thumbs up to the entire hotel.
If you're not driving, exploring Aswan's attractions can be a bit challenging, but the hotel's concierge staff provides helpful advice.
Overall, everything was excellent.

GGuest UserMy favorite hotel of the entire trip. Although it's a bit of a trendy hotel, it's built on an island, and the feeling of going in and out by boat is still very romantic. It's also very convenient to go to Philae Temple, and you can see a stunning sunrise in the morning.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right by the Nile River. There is a large area full of his homes. It is a bit like a more distinctive homestay. It is in Nubian style, and there are many distinctive decorations in the room.
The hotel is located in the suburbs, and the surrounding area is deserted and remote, so it is also very quiet. The hotel we booked to pick us up from Cairo to Aswan was charged $55. It took about 40 minutes to drive. I felt cheated. In fact, you can call a taxi directly from the airport. It is not as chaotic as it is said on the Internet.
The breakfast in the hotel is not bad. The fried egg is very delicious. There is a waiter who is Nubian. He is very nice to me. He will take the initiative to help me carry things and remind me to pay attention to the steps. It is the most sincere and friendly service I feel in my trip to Egypt. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name. When I left, I wanted to find him to tip but couldn't find him.

MM60109****Aswan said that this place is worn, except for the old waterfall, no one can live in a hotel. Instead of spending more than a thousand unpleasant, it is better to come to this homestay. There is hot water, breakfast with egg cucumber cakes, air conditioning, and hygiene in the local area.
After all, at this price, what kind of bicycles do you want, the owner of the hotel is good, English is all ok in the local area, the old man is a teacher, there are three sons, one is working in Saudi Arabia, one is a soldier, and there is a local travel agency to work, opening this hotel is also subsidized for home use, very friendly to the Chinese, Real people, more than 20 years ago, moved from Abu Simbe to Aswan for a better life, and chatted with them, you can learn that the locals in Egypt are really not as bad as they say on the Internet
But the disadvantage is that it is not easy to find. If it is not for the local driver, it is difficult to find. The location is relatively biased. Although Egyptian security is OK, women are not recommended to go alone at night.
