Check in quick. Room was surprisingly large, next to noisy family but can’t be helped. Huge bed! Plus a bed for our soon and a camp bed! Plenty of space and very modern. Tv had no remote so had to go to reception and ask for one. Ordered room service but had to go to desk to pay and told one minute it wouldn’t be ready until gone 6 (an hour after ordering) but turned up within half hour. I’d say that’s the only downside was the conflicting info given by staff. Spa is nice, small pool area and steam and sauna again very small and was super busy so had to wait to enter both. I didn’t stay long as kids only allowed in between 4&6 and I’m morning slot also. Would stay again.
The Hotel was ideally located to Rail Station, Shops & places of interest. Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Hotel had Gym facilities, although I did not use them they were there. And most important it had Car Parking which is quite rare. Would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.
We have stayed here several times and fed back to managers about the poor state of the tables & chairs in the breakfast area. Although my feedback (with photos) was not acknowledged, on our last visit just before xmas, we noticed the badly stained and chipped tables had been replaced or refurbished, and the badly stained and dirty seating had been cleaned and/or replaced, so that it now feels comfortable to sit on them. So I'm pleased my feedback may have contributed to these much needed changes.
However the window frames in our room were in a terrible state, covered in black mould and in desperate need of repair or replacement. Not a healthy presence to have anywhere. So hopefully this review will be seen by the right person/people and acted upon.
Great hotel, fabulous waterfront location with great service by staff. Breakfast was wonderful, great selection and tasty food. . Had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant

Staff so helpful, lovely receptionist helped with directions and tips for me. I want to go back. Definitely one of the top places I’ve stayed in!
The hotel was nice, neat and the staff were very friendly.
The only problem we had was the room heating not working and we were given a fan heater which eventually lead to us having headaches.
The food also was average but the staff team were excellent.
This hotel offers an excellent service from helpful and kind staff. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Free on-site parking. Very tasty breakfast with lots of choice of freshly cooked items. The location overlooks the river with its beautiful tow path walk. Highly recommended for all types of guests.

GGuest UserThe bed was terrible had a terrible night the mattress was so worn out it completely squashed together as I sat on the bed. When I reported it to reception the lady informed me that they were being replaced but for us not soon enough! Sadley as everything else was ok
GGuest UserLovely Hotel, definitely stay again but not in the room given to me , I had emailed and called in advance for a lower floor as I have 2 miniature dachshunds, I was very surprised to be at the very top of 6 flights of stairs no lift !

GGuest UserA beautiful location with stunning views. The hotel interior was a perfect mix of traditional and contemporary. Our room was right at the top of the building and, although very small, it was well designed and very clean. The service was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to help you. We had dinner in the bar, which was tasty and arrived quickly and hot! All in all, The Cottage in the Woods is a perfect place for a quiet break with a little luxury. We will definitely be returning.
GGuest UserThe Angel is great for an overnight stay. All staff welcoming, friendly and efficient. Atmosphere relaxing, stepping off the high street into an oasis of calm! Excellent position opposite Broad Street and Number 8 venue, once we arrived and parked in the hotel’s free car park we didn’t have to drive again until we left. Local produce from their own farm made for a delicious meal. Would love to re-visit in the future.

Breakfast the following morning was equally as gd. We enjoyed a really gd sleep. It was a very warm evening - the hotel had provided a fan which meant our sleep was nit disturbed.

WWil~MCYI recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham - Redditch and was very pleased with my experience. The room was spotless and well-maintained.
